Researchers Discover What We Knew Months Ago - Bosch Supplied Emissions Software Cheat To The Industry
A study alleges that Robert Bosch Gmbh created the software that enabled Volkswagen AG to evade diesel emissions standards for years.

Technical documents also indicate Bosch code was used in a so-called defeat device for a Fiat Chrysler Automobiles model, according to a year-long study by researchers at the University of California, San Diego and Ruhr-Universitat Bochum in Germany. That software set one mode for when a vehicle is being tested -- but then allowed tailpipe pollution to spike in real-world driving conditions.

Well duh... So far EVERYONE accused of cheating is using the same cheat on the same Bosch system. Do you honestly think that they all thought of the exact same thing at the exact same time?

Someone got paid a lot of money to do grade school research.

In the latest news, researchers discovered water is wet. Although this topic is still hotly debated on the Internet, scientists claim initial reports are "likely correct." Stay tuned for more news on this matter.

"researchers discovered water is wet" - not entirely correct. Even in liquid form, certain condition will not make water "wet".

I guess the truth is out. VW is truly not at the heart of the dieselgate, but rather Bosch is, and now everyone and their cousins are affected. Time to reverse the unnecessary fines VW got slapped with, and bill Bosch instead!

Audi actually wrote the original source code for the software, we know this already. And VW / Audi knowingly implemented it. Exactly how Bosch was involved in the software is coming to light but it takes nothing away from VW / Audi's role in the scandal. If prosecutors find the Mercedes-Benz used the software as well and they got it from Bosch it will be the same situation.

I'm waiting for a company to say they just bought the software from Bosch but did not know the cheat was in place.

And Bosch will claim/use the weasel clause that it was sold "not for road use" puposes...

In the end none of these bad actor automakers or gas chamber manufacturers will do any jail time just like the 2008 Wall Street CDO fiasco. Meanwhile the consumers will be out of pocket billions in loses due to negatively affected resale values or saleproof asshole brands that cheated and defrauded the consumers with "Clean Diesel" and "Truth in Engineering" FRAUDULENT claims.

Bring on the class actions and fines from all levels of government. This is the only time I will be cheering on the lawyers as they circle the prey.

This scandal will make automakers do serious soul searching and commit to EV for good. Time to move away from the internal combustion engine.
