Denmark Ends EV Subsidies And Sales Collapse Proving That Money May Be More Important Than Being Green
Once considered one of the world-leaders in the take-up of electric vehicles, Denmark’s sales of electric vehicles have slumped dramatically in the first quarter of 2017 as the government scales back EV incentives.

Despite being considered a ‘green’ populace, and with one of the highest rates of bicycle usage in Europe, the government’s decision to apply the same tariff to electric vehicles as already exists for internal combustion cars has proved disastrous to EV sales.

Key points in the article:
1) 180% import levy on gasoline and diesel cars in Denmark (WOW!!!)
2) EVs used to be exempt from this levy, making them WAY cheaper than gas or diesel
3) Now that the huge EV price advantage is drying up, so have EV sales

Is anyone surprised? Meanwhile in North America, when pump gasoline prices fell, so did hybrid and EV sales. Evidently, people are still affected by finances. Go figure.

Just like all those people wining that Trump exited the Paris Accord. Ask them what kind of car they drive. Most will not say Hybrid or EV.

That is why Tesla is a baloon with no real business model ready to collapse.
Only through the corrupt cintinuing theft of U.S. taxpayer billions has Tesla be able to keep its doors open.

Not sure which incentives besides the Federal Rebate you are referring to, and that expires next year.

They have the same EV incentive as all other manufacturers do, no special treatment. The ZEV credits are also pretty worthless at this point and working against Tesla.

Sad truth is people are usually only green when it is cheaper for them, more convenient for them or when it is trendy and fashionable or when they can impose their immoral superiority over you for not being green or green enough.

The "real environmentalists" are the old hippies long before it was cool or the in thing to do. Go to any Grateful Dead concert and see how clean the site was afterwards -not a single cigarette butt or roach clip anywhere. They all drove 4 banger VW's back in the big block days and wasted nothing/shared everything and recycling was a religion.

I miss those simpler, greener days, Garcia and the dancing bears!
