Lamborghini Gallardo facelift - more info
The Lamborghini Gallardo is one of the most successful models of all times. For 2007 both the Coupe and the Spyder will have small modifications.

The Coupe can be ordered for the first time with the reserved Spyder colors: "Celeste Phoebe" and "Verde Picus". The interior is available in three contrasting colors: "Marrone Janus", "Bianco polar" and "Azzurro Australis" (also for the Spyder).

The most substantial change are the brakes. 2007 Gallardo features the same high-efficient carbon ceramics brakes available in the Lamborghini Murcielago.

The Gallardo is powered by a 4961 cc V10 engine with a maximum output of 520 hp. It can make the 0 to 60 mph sprint in just 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 195 mph.

They're doing this to make sure the R8 isn't a better car.

Isn't that the current version in the picture?

I didn't read the article, but I bet it will look more different from the current one than that, if the LP640 is any indication.

"The Lamborghini Gallardo is one of the most successful [Lamborghinis] of all time."

All thanks to Audi!

It really makes you think- if Audi is so much "less upscale" than BMW, why are they so much better at managing their premium brand? Lambo is thriving while Rolls-Royce is floundering under Bentley's shadow.

That is because the Rolls is more exclusive than Bentley. Bentley is more mainstream now than RR is. For example, in rap videos.

Rappers get Phantoms, Bentleys, Mercedes and anything they want..Honestly..If you want to see which car has the most prestigious image, check out a rap video...Thats why you dont get much rap video's with BMW or Lexus...

theman,

actually i dont think you know much about rap/hip-hop.

even if they dont have the cars in videos, listen to the references in their lyrics, youll hear a lot of bmw refernces, but as for lexus.. uhm.. no help there

You are the one who doesnt know anything about hip-hop..Mercedes is by far the most mentioned brand name..BMW wishes its on the list..This is the one for 2005..

1 Mercedes automobiles 100
2 Nike 63
3 Cadillac automobiles 62
4 Bentley automobiles 51
5 Rolls-Royce automobiles 46
6 Hennessy cognac 44
7 Chevrolet automobiles 40
8 Louis Vuitton fashion 35
9 Cristal champagne 28
10 AK-47 rifles 33

As you can see Mercedes is almost double of the second brand, just shows how much the Benz is more prestigious and luxurious than other brands..

Rappers like the Escalade and the old caddy's...Who am I to judge?, but notice the brands you got on there..For the Merc to be on top of luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton/Rolls Royce AND the less expensive brands such as Chevy/Nike..That is quiet an accomplishment...Whenever you want to see the statues of a brand look at who purchases them in every society, Merc has always been associated with Leaders/Celebrities/Shieks and Rappers..BMW has been associated with car enthusiasts..

If taking a brand down market is considered thriving then sure, but RR isn't meant to compete with Mercedes like Bentley is now doing. The Phantom sells better than the Arnage or Maybach. If the R8 is a tinkered Lamborghini than it had rightly be a fantastic performer, anything less would be a failure

The Continental GT is hardly "downmarket". It retains Bentley's hallmark ultra-luxury interior, has a 550hp twin-turbocharged twelve-cylinder engine (much better than the Phantom's 440hp engine), and it's basically dripping with sex appeal. It's only commonplace in the most exclusive suburbs... ahem... mine.

But I don't know who in their right mind would buy a Phantom over a Flying Spur.

Don't forget about the Baby-Rolls that is coming up with the 7-series platform. OOOHHH! I said platform sharing ;). Rolls won't be so exclusive much longer, so don't worry about that. However - these cars can hardly be classified with lower level luxury cars like the S-class.

I feel sorry for Lambo. They must be foaming at the mouth mad that the corporation stole their superb Gallardo and rebadged it a mediocre Volksaudi.

It's too bad that Audi owns Lamborghini and can do anything they want with it.

It's also a shame that BMW gave the Phantom such an underpowered engine... it's a three-ton car, people!

Guys, this is old news:
http://www.motorauthority.com/news/supercars/lamborghini%e2%80%99s-updated-2007-gallardo/

Anyway, I totally agree that Audi's backing has made Lamborghini a formidable force. The only area I'd like to see them improve is the interiors, which are a little bit too Audi-like for my liking. Sure, the Audi-sourced interior is very well built, but sitting in a Ferrari just feels so much more special. I look forward to whatever Lambo has planned for us next....

one of the hottest cars on the market. You can imagine this car will be similar to the V-10 R8, I don't think Audi will put more than the 520 hp. you can go a step further to get a custom upgrade with a company like DINAN, Alpina, Brabhus,I don't know names of the Audi upgrade specialist but they them, upgrade to 600 hp?
