Jaguar's Sexy XF Sportbrake Coming To US - Would You Ever Choose A Wagon Over A SUV?
This winter, the new Jaguar XF Sportbrake will arrive at dealerships in North America, and details and photos have just emerged. In Britain, the publicity stunt was to have tennis star Andy Murray unveil the car at Wimbledon, put his trophy in the back, and embark on a tour.

Here in America, there’s no grand reveal, but this is big news for those of us still hung up on the XJS-based Lynx Eventer shooting brake of the 1980s. Us folks have been pining for a legit Jaguar wagon for more than three decades; the Ford Mondeo–based X-type compact wagon didn’t quite count, and the previous XF Sportbrake failed to leap across the ocean. While the F-Pace may have mollified some with a jones for a luxurious Brit with a rear hatch, true wagon aficionados won’t be appeased by a crossover.

NO. Used to love a wagon, especially a sporty one. But sitting low to the ground unable to see the flow of traffic surrounded by a sea of tall vehicles makes sitting up high ala SUV is a real plus these days. That and at a certain age a higher vehicle is a lot easier to get in and out of.

A much more practical choice for many that the mini CUV and SUV offerings. There is very little space in those choices with the rear seats up. Wagons are a huge business in the EU. North American buyers need to take another look at them.

Love it. I've had 2 Audi Avants and an Allroad. Sport wagons are the best of both worlds. Glad to see Jaguar is bringing theirs to the US. Maybe this will rekindle some interest.

Hell yes! I don't like driving SUVs or trucks and prefer cars. Sedans are too small for me and my hauling needs so a nicely tuned wagon would be perfect.

This is one good looking sled but $71K is wishful thinking and only has automatic so that excludes me as a potential buyer as I want to shift my own damn gears.

Nope.

I would not want Jaguar's low reliability parked in my driveway.

$41K for the wagon would be a much more sane base price.

Not just see over them, maybe drive over them like the monster truck stunts!

Nope. The next trend will be 8 feet tall unicycles. This way you can be green, lean (by pedaling your ass off) and see over them pesky SUVs. Monster trucks are a bitch to park.

They're just isn't a big market for Wagons in the US. We don't get hit with heavy fees for inefficient vehicles, most of us don't get month-long holiday, our roads aren't exceptionally narrow, and gas is relatively affordable compared to other parts of the world... That, and combined with how the American buyers buys cars, this car really does not make sense to bring over.
