SPIED + VIDEO: Is THIS An All-New BMW X3 Or X3M Testing At The Ring? YOU DECIDE!

In recent months there's been a bit of a hullabaloo about BMW producing an all-new X3. OK, no surprise there as the current-gen product is really starting to show its gray hairs.

What is a little bit of a surprise, however, is that it seems like our Bavarian friends are going to build an X3M. Considering how much I love the X5M and X6M, this is a glorious happening.

And it doesn't hurt that the current-gen X4 M40i should give pause to anyone considering the purchase of a Jaguar F-Pace or Porsche Macan. The vehicle does feel quite right.

This leaves me wondering how much better can it get but I am sure BMW will find a way.

All this said, many Spies have been keeping their eyes peeled on the comings and goings of the next-gen X3 at the world famous Nürburgring. In the latest spy video, it seems that the videographer believes they captured the next-gen X3M. To me, however, it seems like the standard model X3 that's equipped with a six-cylinder motor.

In this video you see the 2019 BMW X3 M doing some test laps on the Nürburgring. It will be the first X3 which will be take care of by the 'M division' from BMW. It will be powered by a 3.0 liter inline-six turbocharged engine delivering close to 500 horsepower.

An X3M is all about sales and image, so why bother testing it?

Looks pretty quick, but no quad exhaust tips = not the actual M. It's the X3 M40i, the M Performance model that lines up against the Audi S and the "AMG Lite" 43-Series models.
