TEASED! Jaguar's All-New Compact SUV, The E-Pace, To Debut July 13 — Do YOU Like What YOU See So Far?
A luxury brand that's experienced an interesting ride since the early 2000s, Jaguar is attempting a renaissance. With so much history and a legacy to uphold, we can't blame them.

While Land Rover has propped up Jaguar Land Rover in recent years, it seems that the all-new F-Pace sport-utility vehicle is giving the brand all-new growth. As we predicted when we first saw the F-Pace concept, we felt this was the company's last hope and strongest offering.

Turns out we were onto something.

So, now what? How is the marque going to further on its success? That would be to continue expanding its SUV product portfolio. This means go smaller and larger. Wisely, Jaguar has chosen to go smaller first since Land Rover addresses the bigger vehicles.

Dubbed the E-Pace, Jaguar will be revealing the compact SUV to the market on July 13.

Although the Jaguar-issued press release makes no mention of price, some outlets are reporting that its base price will start at $38,600.

Jaguar's press release follows:

JAGUAR E-PACE: THE NEW COMPACT PERFORMANCE SUV

The new E-PACE will join Jaguar’s PACE family of SUVs, the successful F-PACE performance crossover and the all-electric I-PACE Concept

  • Jaguar E-PACE combines sports car design and agility with everyday SUV practicality
  • Joins World Car of the Year-winning F-PACE and Jaguar’s all-electric I-PACE Concept SUVs
  • World Premiere of Jaguar E-PACE 13 July 2017

Jaguar introduces its new compact performance SUV, the Jaguar E-PACE.

Joining Jaguar’s PACE family of performance SUVs, the E-PACE follows on from the successful F-PACE, which helped boost Jaguar’s sales by 83 per cent last year, and the all-electric I-PACE Concept which will go into production in 2018.

The combination of sports car looks with Jaguar performance will ensure that the E-PACE stands out. Every Jaguar is designed to excite the senses, and we think E-PACE will do just that, albeit with its own individual character.

Ian Callum Director of Design, Jaguar

The Jaguar E-PACE features sports car-derived AWD technology and an all-Ingenium line-up of petrol and diesel engines, as well as a suite of connected technology and safety features.

The compact performance SUV will be revealed to the world on 13 July

F pace looks great in many ways except rear end, either too blunt or too chunky. That will be the same for the E Pace. I guess its hard to make an SUV sporty from all angles when you are essentially carving a bar of soap into something practical and sporty. Land Rover does it best IMO

Jaguar dealers desperately need this and they need to to be a sales tsunami given how terrible Jaguar-brand sales are overall and the fact that the F Pace is far from being the sales success in its segment that Jaguar hoped for. Yes, the F Pace sells well for a Jaguar, but in its segment, it's an also-ran product.

What do you think about the I-Pace?

E Pace over I Pace for the immediate future. As has been said several times by folks on this site, when EVs recharge in 10 minutes to a new range of 400+ miles we are all for them. Until then they are too inconvenient for a large number of us in the way we use a vehicle.

The E Pace is obviously the volume product. With Jaguar desperately needing to increase its worldwide volume, ICE models will be the way forward. EVs are still niche vehicles. The I Pace is significant--yes--but it will be essentially an E Pace EV.

Replacing the XE (no sales) and XF (no sales) with an EV coupesedan and taking the XJ back to looking like a traditional sedan rather than a hatchback would be wise moves.

The E-Pace looks great from what I can see. I will be in the market for a new car in 2018, and I never would have considered Jaguar until I saw the F-pace last year. It is very pleasing to look at. The E-pace might be a bit small for my needs, but I will still give it a test drive.

I love Jags and have owned many with zero mechanical issues (ironic I know) and I like the front half of this CUV but the ass end looks difficult or Aztecianish.

One of my "grandfathers" had an XJR of the "XJ40" variety and one of the post-XJ40 variety and they were relatively reliable-ish sorta kinda. The "XJ40" XJR was slightly less reliable than the subsequent one, but both were far from the parade of idiocy that happened at the local dealer where Jaguars were flat-bedded in--not as a courtesy for servicing--but because they were dead and needed reviving.

Probably needed this before the F-pace but at least they're building the type of cars that sell and it looks good. Probably going to have similar reliability to the Evoque and Discovery Sport but those keep selling so people don't seem as concerned. Very interested to see how well the i-pace will do as it looks like it will get to market before any of the Germans brands planning electric SUVs or crossovers.
