DRIVEN + VIDEO: The 2018 Toyota Camry LOOKS Aggressive As Hell But Has Its Drive Actually Improved?
One of the biggest shocks for me was seeing the 2018 Toyota Camry when it made its debut. There's no questioning that this Camry is all-new and, dare I say, badass?

It's easily the most aggressive Camry we've seen to date and in a world where Toyota decided to provide a sea of beige we welcome it with arms wide open. Forget beige, the 2018 Camry can be optioned with a RED interior.

How crazy is that?!

But, we know that the changes have to be more than skin deep for this vehicle to keep interest among consumers. More than ever, buyers are skewing towards sportier products.

So, what's the 2018 Toyota Camry really like? Well, find out below and let us know your thoughts.

Is this iteration of the Camry going to boost sales or alienate loyal customers? What say you, Spies?

Toyota has redesigned the Camry for 2018, making it more exciting to drive, spruced up its styling, and freshened up the interior. But more importantly Toyota continues to make advanced safety features standard on all trim levels.

It remains what it's always been...a somewhat competent inoffensive vehicle.

"Aggressive as hell"? I find it unattractive as all get-out :-(

With respect to the drive, have Camry owners been complaining about the drive? I have not heard about that, if they were.

I agree with you 100%.

As far as I know, Camry buyers have been plenty happy with their beige toasters, which makes me wonder why Toyota has gone pretty drastic with this generation product.

You may call it aggressive. I call it ugly. I don't want any of these "edgy" styles. I want something that will still be attractive (to me) after the fad has passed. Am I boring? Most likely. But I like myself that way. :)

I'm not much of fan of the edgy look either.

This is awful looking. What is happening with some of these auto designers. Is there a blog on the top 10 ugliest cars been created yet?

Look is subjective, but it definitely on the same par with the current Accord as the top 2 family midsize sedans. Toyota TGNA supposed to improved the drive significantly. I think where it stands out is the much improved 2.5 4-cyc and the 53/51 MPG hybrid. Not sure if I would take the Accord supposedly 1.6 turbo over 2.5 n/a, but have to wait.

In basic trim it looks awful. in sport trim it looks better than the basic, but still nowhere near what I would call attractive. Blech.

It appears the current crop of JDM designers had lost their jobs at the companies that produce such products as The Transformers, Gundam and Power Rangers.

Once you said "Transformers" I see it. Now that is all I think when I see the front of this car.

Funny, now I see it too.

Doesn't help the movie dropped last night...

Looks like Toyota found "tha beak" Acura lost.

Like usual, Toyota "borrowing" stuff from Honda and convincing your grandma to buy it.

There is likely a disconnect between actual buyers and the "Brand or "Product" guy who wants to "shake things up" "steal some share" or "make my mark" with jazzing up the Camry. As it was said buyers like a toaster that does not break, have recalls and goes down the road just fine with a nice smooth drive. The are not Spies. The don't know who won Le Mans or that the 911 has a turbo engine now and don't really care.

It would not surprise me if there are CamCord and FusNata owners here. A lot of enthusiasts have utterly normal cars as daily drivers. Performance cars are great but they can also be a bit much for day-in-day-out driving.

Styling is subjective. Frankly not to my taste as far as the front end goes. The rest is not bad. Interior seems nicer and upgraded. The upgraded performance and handling are a good thing in any vehicle even if the "vanilla people" buyers don't get it or care about it. The car is still quiet and comfortable as before and now at least approaches the Mazda 6 or Honda Accord for sport driving. Further other than the Passat its the only other vehicle with an N/A engine line available. I don't know if its going to stave off buyers interest in SUV/CUV's etc. However it might at least slow the decline in Camry sales over the next few years.

In the end no one can match the combination of engineering, manufacturing, and value.
