SPIED On The STREET! UP Close And Personal With The Rolls-Royce Cullinan — Notice Anything?
If you had asked me 10 years ago whether Rolls-Royce would build a sport-utility vehicle, I would have emphatically said "No!" Boy, how things have changed.

Now that the day has come, we've been keeping an eye on the latest and greatest spy shots of the all-new Cullinan. We're expecting it to follow the likes of the Ghost with a more rounded off shape but it will still be uniquely Rolls.

That means it will be physically imposing and command a presence on road.

Thanks to Fred Khaz, and his SoCal buddy that snapped this excellent shot, it's clear that this SUV will be unlike anything we've seen before. That includes the Bentley Bentayga.

Looking like a blend between a Ghost and a Land Rover Range Rover, it barely fits into the standard parking space. Three things I've noted in this image:

1) Take note at how much glass and headroom there's going to be in this thing. Definitely Range Rover like with what appears to be "command seating."

2) There's an awful lot of space behind the rear door. I am going to guess that the rear coach door's size is not an indicator of interior space as the rear seating will likely be recessed into the cargo area as in the Phantom.

3) I LOVE the fake rear door handle. We all know this baby will have coach doors, why even bother guys?

All that said, do YOU notice anything else?

Get the Rolls Royce Cunanan to market so Kim Kardashian's fat ass can buy one already.

X7 with a Rolls Royce nose?

Yes - there is almost No overhang front and rear. But there is something wrong with the rear wheel well and you description that it barely fits into a standard parking space - If you look at the rear wheel- It appears that the back bottom of the rear door is part of the wheel well - which implies this vehicle is shorter than it looks.

The proportions are ghastly looking.

This is awesome - the same dude humping that crappy Kia in the other thread thinks the RR proportions are "ghastly".

I just hope the proportions on the production version dont look weird. BMW didn't win any new fans for their newest X5. And it's taken them forever to show a near-finished X7. I'm guessing BMW developed the Cullinan along with the X7 to share platform R&D costs. Hopefully those savings have gone into a beautiful RR SUV. Hopefully...bcuz I'm not holding my breath on this one.

Stop trying so hard. You know and I know that if this same SUV had a Hyundai or Lincoln badge on it you'd be stroking it like a bassoon.

It will have its own platform. Shared with the new Phantom I would guess. Styling (as with other Rolls Royce cars) is for BUYERS, not posters of FB fans. the new Phantom will look 95% like the old one. This SUV will be very stately. I think the design brief was for a high riding car to handle rough roads. It will sell out not to worry and at a handsome profit with commissioned orders tailored to the taste of each buyer.
