Images Of The 700HP Porsche 911 GT2 RS Leak Ahead Of Goodwood Debut

Official pictures of Porsche's new 911 GT2 RS, the most powerful and extreme road-going 911 yet, have been leaked ahead of the car's 4pm reveal at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, according to Porsche enthusiast site Rennlist.

More pictures were released following the GT2 RS's first showing at the launch for the Forza Motorsport 7 video game, although this latest set are the first batch to feature the car in motion, as well as showing some of the car's interior.

As long as any permutation of the 911 sells, Porsche will knuckle shuffle another out.

I still wonder who this model appeals to. Who would not be satisfied with the GT3RS if you are that kind of driver? This is a bit too boy-racer with the black trim bits popping up everywhere. Slightly vulgar in a way. I am sure they can find 500 buyers world wide.

There's a gentleman I race with who has one. Of course, he also has a cup and a Ford GT (2005 and a 2018 coming) and several other cars. He's the target audience.

I have a GT3 RS and several people have asked me why I wouldn't get one since I sometime complain of insufficient power on the track. My answer: not as long as they make N/A engines. Once they're all turbo, then probably won't matter.

What's I've read is that Porsche will not limit production. This would be consistent with other GT cars except for a few special editions, e.g. the "R". This isn't flagged as a numbered car.

Of course, there won't be tens of thousands of the GT2 RS made but it might climb between 1000 and 2000 ultimately.
