SPIED: EXPOSED! DETAILED Shots Of The All-new BMW M5's INTERIOR
Any debut of an M car is a big deal. That's just a fact, folks.

And when it comes to the storied BMW M5, it's an even bigger deal. That's because, aside from the M1, it was the first full-blooded M car to be had in mass quantities. Sure, there was the M535i and M635CSi, but note I said "full blooded."

The next-gen M5 has been spotted out and about during developmental testing before but, I reckon, these are the first interior spy shots. At least these are the first snaps of the inside I can recall seeing.

And, boy, they're detailed.

Check out the red start/stop button, the all-new gear selector, carbon fiber trim, exhaust mode button, M-trimmed steering wheel, etc., etc. Click "Read Article" below to see the FULL collection and let us know what you think of the all-new M5's interior.

All I see is a messy 5-series interior.

There may have been a time when an M series BMW was a big deal. THat was when there were only one or two other players in that super sports sedan market started by Mercedes. Today - in is not a sure thing that an M series BMW will even be a class leader.

The same is true of AMG. Because there is an "M" everything at BMW and an "AMG" everything at Mercedes, neither has any special meaning anymore.

@TomM, ever drive an AMG Hammer or a 450SEL6.9?

TomM was likely was referring to how BMW's M vehicles have by and large lost their dynamic advantages over the competition, not that the market has been saturated with an "M" or "AMG" version of every model. His statement likely referred to how when a buyer previously purchased an M3 or M5, it was clear that it was the best handling and most connected super sport-sedan in its class. Those claims are no longer valid as BMW has moved away from dynamic precision in favor of more luxury and technology.

Funny, the recent article about the new RS5 a couple of days ago still sites the M4 as the benchmark that the Audi can't match. Still can't find a review that says they RS3 is a better driver's car than the M2, and we can go on and on.

@TomM I know your a big merc fan but I am interested, what car do you think Mercedes made that started the super sedan segment?

@MD I went to school with someone who's Dad had an AMG Hammer, he hardly ever drove it but got to ride in it a couple of times. Current AMG products have nothing on that car in terms of how special it felt and looked.

@Firewombat one of my "grandfathers" has a Hammer and a 450SEL6.9 and both of them have an "it" factor that is completely absent from performance premium cars.

Hopefully BMW will ditch the fake engine noise through the radio speakers.

Essentially same interior as BMW has had for the past 15 years. Yawn....

"...when a buyer previously purchased an M3 or M5, it was clear that it was the best handling and most connected super sport-sedan in its class. Those claims are no longer valid..."

I still see BMW in front every time I see a comparison...
