2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS Reportedly Reached 208MPH During Nurburgring Run
Has the 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS set a new Nurburgring production car lap record? It's too early to tell, but Zuffenhausen certainly loves to throw hints towards a sub-7m lap time at us.

The most recent piece of info regarding the Rennsport Neunelfer's Ring performance comes from Mark Webber, who recently told Driving.ca (check out the interview in the video below) that he managed to hit 336 km/h (208.7 mph) while hooning the Neunelfer on the Green Hell.

As much as I love some 911s, the 208 mph top-end is not that different from the top speed of the 580 hp 911 Turbo S (205 mph, 3-4 mph less with 120 hp less). If you own a sports car in North America, you'll rarely see that number off a track, anyway.

The 911 GT2 RS is a very capable street-legal track car, with a price tag to prove it.

"see that number off a track, anyway" quite true... but most cars never hit the top speed they are capable off. heck i drove a hundai accent to 120 mph(thats what the speedo claimed)once but chances are that doesn't happen very often, and for good reason...
Top speed as in HP and 0-60 times just makes the car more desirable...

Yes, but it's how fast you can get to the 208 mph that is critical in this 'ring discussion.

But you're right, 100% probability that I more likely see 208 minutes per mile than 208 miles per hour here in the NYC area.
