Ex Audi Manager Charged With Fraud In Conjunction With DieselGate Scandal

A former Audi AG manager was charged with fraud by the U.S. for his alleged role in helping Volkswagen AG cheat U.S. emissions standards.

Giovanni Pamio, 60, conspired to defraud U.S. regulators and consumers through software designed to cheat emissions tests in thousands of Audi vehicles marketed as "clean diesel," the Justice Department said in a news release Thursday.

"Pamio and co-conspirators deliberately failed to disclose the software functions, and they knowingly misrepresented that the vehicles complied with" emissions standards, the government said.

Great. They caught the "one guy" at Audi who was responsible for Dieselgate at Audi. That's sarcasm, by the way :-/

Wow- checked out that nutty fringe website Bobm, pointed to- I'll spare you the details of mucking around in that quasi-intellectual cesspool- the story is that Prof. Mann, a now famous leading scientist with real actual training and accredations in Climate Science, sued a fringe nutcase climate denier for Libel in Canadian court for comparing him by name to noted child molester Jerry Sandusky. It should be noted that the nutball defendant has since deleted his post (a noted action shared with other shoot first ask questions later internet macho man hero types). The rest of the article contains quotes and pure conjecture from the nutball's equally nutty lawyer projecting all kinds of propaganda about what he expects the judge to do. Which of course in real life is that the judge is going to laugh in his face and pay up for Libel damages.

Please educate yourself and avoid far right wing nonsense websites that traffic in boilerplate hot button issues written purely in order to extract as much emotion as possible from a very ideologically driven crowd. This ideology is a classic ostrich head in the sand situation and is not going to end well for those trafficking in such insipid loony tunes versions of actual real events. The above link clearly describes the legal situation exactly as I presented. The real world exists. Please join it, Bobm.

from the article:

Simberg’s accusations, written on July 13, 2012, compared Mann’s research to Jerry Sandusky’s child-abuse scandal at Penn State University. An excerpt read, “Mann could be said to be the Jerry Sandusky of climate science, except for instead of molesting children, he has molested and tortured data in service of politicized science that could have dire consequences for the nation and planet.”

Steyn wrote an article in the National Review titled “Football and Hockey,” which, according to the court, further supported Simberg’s claims, saying that it, “continued the theme of personal attack and innuendo against Dr. Mann commenced in Mr. Simberg’s article.”

After failing to obtain a retraction and apology, on Oct. 22, 2012, Mann sued Simberg, Steyn, National Review and others for defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

It's the same case. It has moved on to Canadian Appellate Court. Please educate yourself on judicial proceedings, particularly as this takes place in Canada. The DC Court is not in the US. it's in District of Columbia, Canada.

You are really embarrassing yourself at this point.
