Thinking Of Buying A Dodge Challenger Demon? Good Luck Finding An Insurance Carrier
A million dollars can buy many, many things. Smart gear heads would invest the majority of that cash and spare $84,995 for something like, say, a Dodge Challenger SRT Demon. The problem is that the Demon has borderline irresponsible amounts of power, enough to corrupt even the most conservative of professional drivers. When that happens, that cool million might have to go towards paying settlements, hospital bills, and damages (good luck having any left for race fuel).

We already have other vehicles that can travel at what the average drive would call insane speeds - with insane acceleration. The Tesla model S with Ludicrous mode - is a great example of such a vehicle. But - you can specify a more run of the mill Mustang or Camaro - or Cadillac V - BmwM - Mercedes EMG - Ferrari - Lamborghini - Bugatti - and lots of others to go crazily faster than the conditions make prudent and sensible (Ie no speed limit areas). And while Insurance may be expensive on these vehicles - insurance is still a profit industry that has the ability to investigate these cars - generate and projects costs - and set rates. ANd as long as they can make a profit doing it - and they CAN - then there will always be insurance carriers that will make these products available. Yes - the costs may be high - but in general -most of these really really high performance cars are better off being called sculptures - since they often spend most of their lives in a garage or other building - never to have their tires touch a real road.

Now of course - if YOUR driving record is bad - it is possible you might have to use one of the carriers that only insure this type of vehicle and really have high rates - but a person who has been a good payer - and has a good driving record should not have a problem otherwise.

Hmmmm....I smell 1971 again.

An insurance company should definitely provide coverage for an 845 HP car. As long as the car owner ponies up the appropriate substantial premiums to cover the increased risk.
