Audi Claims 4 Awards: New TT Voted The Most Beautiful Car In The World
Walter de Silva, design chief of the Audi brand group, picked up an impressive four prizes at the Auto Bild Design Award ceremony. The Audi TT, the Audi Q7 and the Audi Shooting Brake concept car were victorious in their respective classes. The TT sports coupé celebrated a double success, also being voted the most beautiful car of the past twelve months by the readers of Auto Bild.

There was a choice of 146 cars in seven classes to vote for, along with the overall winner. The Audi models prevailed against some top-calibre competition. The Audi TT took victory in the sports-car and coupé category, the Audi Q7 high-performance SUV in the off-road and SUV class, while the Audi Shooting Brake won through against the other studies and concept cars.

The Audi Q7 has been well received not only by Auto Bild readers, but also by customers. The production capacities for the first Audi SUV model have been increased owing to great demand.

The Shooting Brake Concept provides a further innovative interpretation of the current Audi formal idiom, blending the powerful dynamism of a sports car with a new sense of spaciousness and greater functionality.

I have to agree with you BMW530i, the Audi A8 is acceptable, but generally, I dont like the Audi design too much, although the R8 is another story..

"Most beautiful in the world" would suggest it was declared by a collection of journalists and other respected auto authorities from around the globe. Not votes from readers of Auto Bild.

I disagree with "world's most beautiful." Perhaps if the choices were narrowed to that category, the TT would certainly be a top contender. Still, kudos to Audi, who is showing dramatic improvements in design and is clearly focused on becoming Germany's most desired brand.

You're just jealous because it's not a Toyota...I mean Lexus. Maybe that's because in Europe no one care's about Lexus.

Before you start telling me how no one cares about Audi in America, I should remind you that Audi sold three times the amount of cars in America than Lexus did in ALL OF EUROPE last year.

It is a definitely a beautiful car but I have to disgree with "World"s most beautiful". I must say the world's most beatiful car would be the Aston Martin AMV8, Rapide and the newly desing DBS9. Everyone has their own opinion and taste but most people would agree that Aston Martin is in that category for sure.

I am not the least bit jealous that this is not a Lexus- what a stupid thing to say. I just don't agree that this is the most beautiful car in the world. I love Audi and have an 03 A4 avant- but neither Lexus nor Audi make the MBCITW in my opinion.

Which came 15 years after VW's first prototype. Given that Toyota had little money invested in this technology back then, it's safe to say Toyota utilized VW technology and now gets the recognition of the "first car with self parking".

VW could have realistically applied this technology to cars in the late '90's if they wanted.

I love this car. Yes, everyone has their own taste, but I think this one deserves the title. But on my opinion, I think the DB9/V8 Vantage are equally as beautiful :)!
