Honda's engineering philosophy along with its innovative thinking enable them to overacheive in whatever project they decide to tackle.

Examples like this prove to me why they are the best automotive manufacturer on the planet.

I think that they are the best engine makers, not just one of the best. They have legendary engineering and I think that makes them the best.

Honda is fantastic... I question why anybody would buy a Toyota over a Honda... I mean, they're equal in price and reliability, and outside of those, Honda does everything better. Unless you prefer a bland look.

If you're into aviation, you'll realize that Honda's entry into the VLJ (Very Light Jet) market is late and expensive.

A fully loaded Eclipse 500 costs less than half of Honda's jet (about $1.6million, vs. Honda's $3.65m base), and is available *today*. (Well, there's a big waiting list -- but Honda's jet isn't exected to be certified in the U.S. for at least another 2 years.)

Toyota and Honda are spending over $1 BILLION combined and they can't even win ONE RACE. I know Button won one, but that was an absolute fluke.

Clueless people always brag about Honda engines and their +100hp/1L. Guess what? F1 engines are getting +300hp/1L. Every manufacturer can build a +100hp/1L engine, but do you think everybody wants a high revving 4 banger without any torque in their car.

Yeah other manufacturers can build the 100hp/l 4 cyl. engines - but you only see Honda/Toyota doing it. (Also BMW and Audi do it too). However you don't see them doing it right? How much torque are you going to get out of a 4 cylinder engine??? 300, 400. Atleast by increasing the HP Honda can offer their customers a little spunk rather than nothing.

Mitsubishi used to make planes and they still may.

They built the Zero.

Well, Honda doesn't make the jet engines for it.

That's right, they are GE engines designed specifically for honda.

If you want to talk aircraft, let's talk pratt & whitney, lockheed martin, and the F-22 raptor...now THOSE are impressive machines (Mach 2 with the afterburners cooking!) Just imagine pulling 9.5 G's...whew

however, the f-22 is a much faster aircraft...the f-35 does a measily mach 1.8

But the F 35 is the fastest non afterburner jet ever made.

The F22 will do Mach 2 without afterburners. The JSF cannot.

Dare I say that speed doesn't really matter with "stealth" aircraft. The F-22 is pretty awesome, saw it couple of years ago, the first time it was shown to the public.

It's not the car or the engine stupid, a lot of things can be a factor, such as the driver, refueling, tire swapping etc.
I hope you're not a Benz fan, because MB and Auto Union should have dominated the whole thing every time conscidering they were the two original bad ass. (The Silver Arrows)

GE makes the engine, but Honda developed and designed the engine. Honda outsourced to save money, but make no mistake about it, in essence, its a Honda power plant.

Honda is the largest engine-maker in the world...and one of the greatest.

How did this topic get from commercial privat jets to stealth fighters? lol. For consumers in this market they don't care much about speed, but more on luxury and exclusiveness.

Honda does build the engine on that jet, that's why it's got superior performance and better fuel economy compared to other similar jets. What's the point in Honda building jets if it didn't do the engine too? Just wait til they add V-TEC to it!!

Don't forget they'll add twin turbo and supercharge and super duper cool guages to make the performance outstanding. Also can't miss the v-tec stickers and the type r stickers which adds like 1000 horsepower.
