Germany Bans The Sale Of Macan S And Cayenne Diesel
Germany's KBA (Kraftfahrtbundesamt) has placed a registration ban on the Porsche Cayenne Diesel and Macan S Diesel due to the discovery of what it describes as suspect emission manipulation software.

The ban, confirmed by German transport minister Alexander Dobrindt on Thursday, comes after KBA testing revealed the two Porsche models are fitted with software that manipulates CO2 emissions by switching to a so-called warm up strategy mode when it detects they are undergoing testing on a rolling road – the process providing them with a lower CO2 rating than that achieved otherwise.

It took Germany until NOW to do this? The US and Canada banned the sale (officially called a "Stop Sale Order") of all VW and Audi diesel vehicles shortly after Dieselgate exploded onto the scene in September 2015. That was nearly two years ago!!!

At this time, the article's stated "suspect emission manipulation software" has been proven to be a fact, beyond a shadow of a doubt (no "shadow of doubt" is a criteria for a murder conviction, by the way). VW and members of the Volkswagen Audi Group (VAG), which obviously includes Porsche, did willfully and knowingly employ what was defined by law as a "cheat device" to fraudulently pass the in-lab emissions test, which were required to legally sell a vehicle in these locales.

Talk about spin and "slow to respond." :-/

Disclosure: I drive an affected Audi Q5 3.0L diesel. I love the car and the engine. Still, I am royally pissed at VAG for their Dieselgate scandal, and for their flagrant disregard for law and life.

I am always amazed by how much people will pay for a tiny CUV. :(

@canadiancomments....or anything with a Porsche badge. Including their absurd asking price for options.
