Next Gen Nissan Leaf Caught During Photo Shoot - Will It Ever Make Your Short List?
The photographs, coming courtesy of Norway TV2’s Broom from a reader who was staying at a hotel in Spain, depict the 2018 Nissan Leaf being chased by a Mercedes-Benz M-Class camera car. Make no mistake about it, this is a promo shoot for the newcomer. And speaking of the all-electric compact hatchback, it definitely looks good in white with a contrasting black roof.

Although grainy and low resolution, the spy shots offer the best look yet at the front fascia, rear, and quarter design of the 2018 Leaf. Fans of the first generation can wave goodbye to the bug eye-like headlights, while the hindmost part of the vehicle takes inspiration from the newest Micra.

It certainly appears to look better than the current leaf - but it is still too small a car - for me to consider as an extra local driver.

I can see it having more appeal than the oddly styled first generation model. BEV's are still rather pricey for the amount of space and utility you get. Possibly a good commuter car if you have a 2nd car that is a minivan or an SUV.

I think it will suffer from Boltitis. The Bolt looks like a normal car and it died. The Leaf looked like a rolling freak show and sold predictably. This looks like a next-generation Sentra hatchback i.e. nothing special.

MD- July 2017 was the highest month ever for Bolt sales, just a touch under 2000 units. 10k units for the year. But much less than the 25,000-30000 units annually that were planned. Does it have to look odd to sell? Perhaps.
