What Modern Cars Will Become Collectors Gold In 20 Years?

It's fun to sit down with friends and try to predict which cars will eventually go for huge sums at auction when we are old. There are plenty of American cars that have skyrocketed in value like the Cuda, Cobra and the GT40. Even several versions of the Mustang, Camaro and Corvette have gone for over $1 million. Here are five bold predictions for American cars that we think will be worth big money in the future. We only picked modern cars that were built after the year 2000. With kids these days (you should ask if any of them have a car on their bedroom wall) I really wonder what will happen to the collector car market. I would guess any naturally aspirated supercar or hypercar would be cherished 25 years from now and go from there.

Tough question - I would put my money on the "Hellcat" and SRT product lines from FCA. I think the Vipers (all of them) will be super-collectible, because of the distinctive styling, great story, and wild V10 engine.

Its pretty likely, IMO, that FCA will be out of business (or scaled down) in the next 10 years, and those products will be important.

On the Ford side, perhaps Mustangs and Ford GT's, but I think the really collectible 'sleeper' Ford will be the Raptor pickups. Think about it - most will get trashed and will rust out and the ones left 10 years from now will be in bad shape. A mint Raptor 20 years from now will be very collectible.
