Add This One To Your Bucket List - Mercedes-Maybach 6 Drop Top To Debut At Pebble Beach

Mercedes is planning to reveal a convertible version of its Vision Maybach 6 concept at this month’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

The drop-top version of last year’s Maybach 6 concept, a 738bhp four-wheel-drive 2+2 EV with gullwing doors, continues Mercedes’ vision for a product to rival the Rolls-Royce Wraith and its convertible variant, the Dawn.

So the truck-faced, ill-proportioned coupe is going to become a convertible. YAWN

Think rich people who get laughed at for their ugliness and lack of taste. Kim Kardashian

Canadian Comments did not argue your point about the Kardashians and the like - but now that Mercedes is attempting to sell the Maybach as a cheaper better alternative to the Rolls - I would think that this car would sell all they WILL make too - because there are that many rich conservatives in the world who can afford one just because!

The simple fact of the matter is that BMW bought best in its acquisition of Rolls Royce. VW was left with the steaming turd known as Bentley, but they made it more grand and glorious than the name had ever been.

Mercedes was aced out, so they revived a brand best known for being Hitler's parade car.

Maybach will NEVER be taken seriously.

Ahem... Bentley is doing quite well, has real racing heritage, quality craftsmanship and torque for days and will likely continue to grow even further with a line of SUV's. Maybach as a brand is a head scratcher and while I like the car featured in this article, building a brand of $2M offerings like VW has with Bugatti is a fine goal, it will not be an easy one to attain if the core of your brand is some obscure German concept sedan from the WWII era.

When will MB stop designing these long hooded coupes shaped like a nerd's shoe? MB needs a new design language that doesn't involve disproportionately elongated hoods PRONTO.

The long hood is fine. It's the drooping tail that makes it ungainly.

The design is interesting but this being a trim level, not a stand-alone brand, why not show something tangible, where is the Maybach GLS? I think there's a huge market for something like that

I am waiting for Heath Ledger to jump out of this car in his Joker costume as it is sinister and ugly but befitting somehow...
