Is Audi Planning To Change The Game With A Lamborghini Powered RS Q8 SUV?
There was no way in hell the allied forces had what it took to build an equivalent to the German enigma. Americans are a very straightforward people. We used to give our fastest cars unique names with connotations of competition, think of the Mustang, Challenger, or Barracuda in this case.

The Germans? They love their numbers. American cars have adopted that too as of late, the GT350 or ZL1 1LE being prime examples, but it’s nothing like the Germans, which have just claimed the letters "RS Q8."

The writer of the article is an IDIOT. When he says "American cars have adopted that too as of late, the GT350 or ZL1 1LE being prime examples", he clearly does not know that "GT350" and "ZL1" are not recent naming inventions. "GT350" and "ZL1" date back to the 60s.

The Q8 will be nothing more than a bloated Q7 and bolting in the Lamborghini engine is just more flailing for attention. It will exist merely to pretend that the Q8 is desirable.

LOL! It Reminds of the time when a certain German car company tried to steal the first-time-use of LED lights in a car from Cadillac.

Don't forget, Porsche and Bentley took that same platform and made their xxx.
You have to admit though, each of the VAG products do differ quite a bit from each other, unlike the GM and Ford.

Building the Lambo Urus SUV only makes sense financially if a super-sport Audi & ultra-luxurious Bentley variants are built as well. This aint rocket science.

VW saw how insane well-healed consumers went over optioned-out M-B G63's, Bentayga's, LR RR Autobiography's & realized they SHOULD be making top-trim SUV's for Audi & Lambo as well. Especially to recoup losses from dieselgate. SUV's earn higher transaction prices & tons of free publicity.

I agree with your line of thought and that is exactly why Audi is expanding the RS range to include an RS Q5 and RS Q8 as well. These hot-rod SUVs have a market and VAG is fully intent on capitalizing on its Lamborghini SUV and using the technology and parts from it to create other high-performance SUVs that have until now been under served by VAG.

I think by now that everyone who is a regular here at AutoSpies - already recognizes that the sedan/car market is "ebbing" if not collapsing. People are driving more and more vehicles classified as TRUCKS off the dealer lots - and while at least one reason may be that they still offer the space that many small cars do not - Trucks still get some different treatment on fuel mileage as well as collision standards.

All the manufacturers are seeing the same thing we see - and since one of the ways they supported their cars was to offer special performance versions - I would expect - and many already have - offered higher spec engines with greater performance - Audi is by no means the first - not even within the same decades - as FORD and GM always offered a series of engines in their original SUVs - with Chevy often offering a small and big block (454). This happened decades ago.

"Lamboghiini powered". Does that mean it'll catch on fire, too?

What's funny is the Lamborghini engine is an Audi V8 with two cylinders tacked on, so isn't the Lamborghini Audi powered? Conversely, could Audi claim its V8 is Lamborghini derived?
