Wow. This is brilliant. All of the Captain Slows out there who adore the dullest example of a sports car will no doubt open their wallets to return their Miatas to the dull slowness of when they were new. I'm surprised it took so long to create this gimmick to get at the cash. I only wish I'd thought of it.

It is amazing that when something is obvious - how Matt and I agree. There will be a few people who will take advantage of this - but in reality - those are likely to be the ones who saved their baby shoes to hang from the rear view mirror bracket.

One thing missed however - is the COST of the repairs. At some point it becomes cheaper to get a new one that restore and old one. I know - people DO that for special one of a kind cars - special serial numbers etc - but there are so few of those that it is not worth counting.

THere are already ways to have your Miata restored in the USA - and with competition - they offer various levels of completion. I do not see people standing in line to save their place in the queue.

@TomM A better restoration is to drop a Ford 5.0 in a Miata.

Supposedly I read today that the 2018 Mustang GT with its new 10 speed automatic transmission will be a sub 4 sec to 60mph car (drag/launch mode engaged). Make that a supercar...
