BMW's July 2017 Global Sales Rise Just 0.1% Due To Poor U.S. Sales - Outsold By MB and Audi For The Month
Global BMW brand sales in July were at last year’s extremely high level. A total of 153,511 (+0.1%) BMW automobiles were delivered to customers around the world. The first seven months of the year were the most successful ever for the brand with 1,191,547 vehicles sold, an increase of 4.5%. A wide range of models throughout the portfolio contributed to this growth. The BMW X family continues to be a major growth driver – despite the current model changeover of the BMW X3 - with overall BMW X sales up 15.4% (407,492). The BMW 1 Series (107,460 / +8.5%) and BMW 7 Series (37,159 / +21.9%) also achieved notable growth. Meanwhile in July, the new BMW 5 Series achieved sales growth of 34.9% (17,712) in markets excluding China. The BMW 5 Series is currently in model changeover in China, where BMW 5 Series sales in July are down 47.2% (6,766) year-on-year.

YTD sales are actually up 4.3 percent, I know you're a little upset about me implying you're an Audi marketing bot but I have to say, if you're going to write an article about sales figures for the 3 German luxo brands at least compare the same figures for all 3 articles. Will you only be commenting through article posts going forward? Are your sandwich friends going to join us this time around too?

blah blah blah...alright man we get it, you may be a BMW marketing bot yourself.

Anyway, bottom line is Audi and BMW underestimated just how much momentum Benz could generate in China in such a short period of time.

It's expected that BMW would be having their best year ever as they offer more models than they ever have in the history of the company so i'd hope they'd be selling more than ever too.

Anyway that being said, when Benz zeroed in on China after being last to the party, that was the stone that took out both Bimmer and Audi, and the rest is history.

Time will tell if Benz will be able to keep the momentum, but right now they are the most exciting brand to watch with AMG/Maybach trims adding to the excitement. Benz is now focused on Tesla , as brand they helped saved from bankruptcy and still uses Mercedes Benz parts in terms of switch gears and controls...

Should be fun to watch

So, this is what perplexes me. The first 7 months of this year are the most successful first 7 months for the brand (globally) in history, yet, we are constantly talking about BMW's downfall. Say what? Yeah, they are definitely behind in the US, but clearly, they're doing okay for themselves everywhere else. Ok, Benzie is doing better, but the point remains that BMW is having the best year of their history.

welcome to Autospies, where positive articles about BMW are posted with negative headlines by an Audi troll.

BMW's global sales are up 4.3% YTD, Audi's global sales are down 3.6% YTD. We don't talk about that on Autospies though. It's buried in the text praising them for finally having a positive month (note the headline):

http://www.autospies.com/news/Audi-s-July-2017-Global-Sales-Rise-3-7-Driven-By-Strong-Growth-in-China-93834/

Here's some more truth. Audi down 7.3% in 2017 Q1
http://auto.economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/industry/global-sales-of-audi-decline-by-7-3-in-q1-of-2017/58168851

Down 2.8% in May and almost 6% for the first two quarters of 2017

BMW is doing just fine, thanks. Just bring the 1-Series sedan to the U.S. so everyone can shut up already.

Add in that while Sedan Sales are dropping off drastically - they actually have increases for the 5 Series - and their drop offs are no where near where others are.

They really have. They aren't the driving machines they once were unless you spring for the M models, the styling is HIGHLY derivative and self-limited, as if they are too afraid to stray too far from being BMW's. And there are other alternatives that just project more prestige and style (Mercedes Benz).
