Porsche Exclusive unique Python Green Chromaflair paint costs more than a car
Since when did customizing a car become more expensive than the actual model? We are aware that tuning a car can cost a lot, but we never expected it to be as expensive as the car itself. But in this case, it is. Luxury automakers like Porsche will make sure to give their customers what they request for when it comes to customizing.

This time, it is a unique paint for the 911 Turbo S you probably have never seen, and it is called Python Green Chromaflair. This paint job will cost you €82,645.50 ($97,395) - that is the most expensive paint out there.

As much as I love the 911, and as much as I like uniqueness and tailoring a car to my tastes, I'm so NOT with this program. I just couldn't justify spending a hundred grand to paint a car, even if I had a billion bucks in the vault. To *ME*, that's like having actual gold faucets and toilet seats. I don't value this enough to pay this amount for it. YMMV.

I wonder how the paint survives a bird bombing.?

Isn't this neon yellow green the color they put on all the Hiking and Camping equipment - and on the vests worn by the construction and road workers - as opposed to the ORANGE they once used? Seems a little downscale to me for the price!!!!!

TomM: I agree about the basic color, but the "Chromaflair" characteristic changes the paint's appearance in different light conditions and angles. To *me*, that's more of a Hot Wheels gimmick than a "must have" characteristic... but that's just me.

For some folks, it is well worth it to assure they are the center of attention. It is essentially a personal advertisement expense.

What happens when you get a stone chip ?

You send it back to Porsche. They take the car down to bare metal and do a full repaint. I think it costs $250K to fix the stone chip.

Porsche is putting an awful lot of social media and press lately into a car model that A) Nobody really cares about, B) Will never have the star power of the GT3 or the 911R C) That no matter what they do, carbon wheels or insanely priced paint, it will still be an oddity (although powerful) in the extremely broad Porsche 911 lineup.

I'd rather have them drop the engine from the 911 Turbo into the Cayman.
