Lamborghini Considers Off Roading Super Car
Remember that crazy-ass off-roading supercar concept Audi showed off back in 2013? It was called the Nanuk and had a V10 diesel, and was essentially a lifted and toughened R8 or something. Well now the rumor mill claims the concept has been kicked over to Lamborghini to become a real thing in the form of a Huracan—now called the Safari.

I'm going to wait for the Scaramanga edition with optional clip on wings.

I would do the Estoque in 4 door and 3 door coupe version in a heartbeat before I built this wild child. No matter how bad rural road are in China, I think they could sell a tonne of these sedans to all those with kids who want another choice besides an S-Class or Panamera.

An Panamera-based Estoque would be cool. But the overall auto industry is seeing too much consumer attention for SUVs or rugged high-riders. I don't doubt that the 4-dr Lambo sedan could do well but its closes competitor would be the Panamera - a corporate cousin.

1 - I think we can say - that unless they produce large numbers of this car - the largest bump most of these will feel will be at the entrance to garage - the concrete strip - to where it will be stored until resale.
2 - I can imagine the loss of life if people actually used these things off-road - where speed is not the most important thing. Too much speed means you cannot control things if the conditions become bad quickly. But - they could become the new supercar for those in the Desert.

Depends on the type of off reading no? Spent years going fast on a motorcycle off road, both motocross and cross country racing. Autos do the Paris to Dakar, or the various off road racies like the baha 500, not to mention rally racing.

Lamborghini winning Paris-Dakar in this rig (or a slightly modified version). Now wouldn't that be something!

I'd rather have a modern LM002, than some beefed up Lambo car.

Just look at how M-B managed to extend the life of the G-wagen. It was boxy, stodgy, absurd, but still a definite consumer darling. M-B just kept updating it gradually. The aftermarket increased consumer awareness with oddball trim designs, but that left M-B to keep selling it & making it better (i.e. AMG G63 4x4^2).

Why can't Lambo do that with the LM002? with the capable Touareg platform it has access to?
