REAL-LIFE Pics Of The 2018 Porsche Cayenne — Is Its Exterior TOO Evolutionary?
Right before the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, it seems we've been receiving a slew of all-new vehicle debuts. Some are more extreme than others.
And if you only viewed the exterior of the 2018 Porsche Cayenne, you may think it's a carryover or simply a refresh. Turns out it's far more than that.

Take, for example, it's all-new powertrains and eight-speed Tiptronic S transmissions.
Have a peek on the inside of the all-new Cayenne. It's completely revamped with a Panamera-like approach. That means it benefits from a large, centrally located infotainment screen and a slew of touch-sensitive controls on the center console.
It's a new approach to what previously worked. BUT, the elephant in the room must be addressed:
Is it ENOUGH to guarantee success in a highly competitive market place?
Scope out the real-life snaps of the 2018 Porsche Cayenne and let us know your thoughts.

It's a Porsche. What else can you say? Unless you had a picture of last year's model, or you're a crazed Porsche aficionado, you'd be hard-pressed to tell the difference between last year's car and next year's "all new" car. I don't like the headlights, though. Interior looks like the might have replaces physical switches with pressure-sensing or capacitive glass. Either way, meh.

I'm guessing, this new Cayenne rides on the new corporate modular architecture. In that sense...cool...but the design hasn't changed or gotten MORE interesting. It bit like they're playing-it-safe. I'm sure the Turbo S version is very slick. Just doesn't look like much - maybe to appeal to consumes that want to drive Porsche SUV but have no need for the high-speed/racer experience.

Yes it's too evolutionary. It feels like they are playing a practical joke on us and really just showing the prior year's model. I'm surprised given so many other car makers are stepping up their game in the Luxury SUV segment.

"All-new"? More like exactly the same as the current version. Nothing surprising though considering BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi are guilty of this too either from one generation to the next or within the model range of an existing generation (Mercedes-Benz is the most guilty of doing the latter).

F*cking boring, and still looks like a bar of soap.

Looks like a tailored suit now...I suspect when seen on the street the differences will stand out more. Nevertheless Porsche buyers don't expect radical design changes from one generation to the next and these will sell well which is what the most profitable (highest margins)car company was shooting for.

2% different than the previous generation but will be 20% more expensive than the outgoing model. Porsche math and damn does it add up especially on options and packages. Oh you want valve stems with those wheels that will be $1800 extra. Nobody better than Porsche when it comes to money getting.
I do like the color and would look better with some dark tint and different rims.

IMO, it is a grave injustice to the heritage and history of this automotive legend to have sold its soul for cash.
Porsche used to be a manufacturer of sports cars. Now, 85% of sales are SUV cars. Yeeeech!
Additionally, to lure buyers in, Porsche has sold all the iconic design parts of the legendary 911 series and has grafted them onto all the SUV's. Headlights, tail lights, handles, windows shapes, gauges, interiors, insignias and even identities like uses 'C4S' on lowly SUV's. And to add insult to injury, the SUV's have been given far more horsepower and torque and are actually straight line faster than the 911 model. SACRILEGE!

If Porsche hadn't developed the Cayenne - they would cease to exist today. The Cayenne and Macan are what keep the 911 and their racing programs going.

I think the new Cayenne looks great. Subtle differences are enough.
