2018 Bentley Continental GT Sports Sleek New Look And EXP 10 Cues
Revealed in 2010, it was about time the second-generation Continental GT made way for an all-new model. The king of grand tourers bristles with EXP 10 Speed 6 Concept styling cues, but beauty alone doesn’t tell the whole story.

For the third-generation Continental GT, the British automaker decided to make the four-seat longer and wider. The front axle sits 135 millimeters further forward, thus creating the impression the hood is longer and the car is more hunkered down to the ground. All in all, these visual changes are made possibly by MSB, the platform Porsche developed with the Panamera in mind.

With Porsche know-how, Bentley decided to mild hybridization in the form of a 48-volt electrical system. The reason? Dynamic Ride System, which uses electronic actuators on the anti-roll bar of each axle. Not only does the mild-hybrid system improve handling, but the new Continental GT promises superior ride comfort.

Looks like a basic, minor refresh of the car it replaces. This was the best they could do?

This version looks better proportionally than the previous model. Some changes are subtle while others are more clearly seen.

Just like Rolls Royce, not many huge design changes will occur until the major next-gen refresh.

Looks great! The prior Bentley Continental driving experience was good for 2008 but the evergreen-chassis feels heavy and ponderous in 2017. If they plucked the good architecture bits out of the Panamera platform, this will be a winner. The Panamera is a fantastic driving experience (but ugly/generic) - this strikes a better balance.

If I was BMW/Rolls-Royce, I would be worried. Bentley is poised to take some of RR's meager volume.

It will do very well.

Ass end looks like a generic 1980s Chevrolet.

IMHO I would have reduced the W12 to 5.0L and upped the compression. Just a brick of an engine on the nose of the car. A good effort overall. I did not expect much change. Not for this market. BTW I really don't need a "12" on the fender of my Bentley or my DB11 for that matter. There might be some 14 year olds in the design department....

I also like the hidden flip open double wide GPS/Utility screen. Very much a "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" sort of ride.

I used to be a big Continental GTC fan. To *my* eyes, the redesign looks a lot more generic, and less like an instantly-recognizable Bentley. If you blended the previous generation Continental with a BMW 6-series, this is what it would look like.
