Genesis G70 3 Series Challenger Takes It To The Streets
Genesis, which is Hyundai’s newly launched, standalone luxury brand, isn’t just about executive sedans, despite its first two offerings, the G80 and the G90. Now the entry-level sedan, the G70, will make its official debut very soon. Here it is.

Proportions look nice and sporty. German-inspired tack-on info monitor on dash (shocking, I know). Huge moonroof so might be a bit top heavy.

Looks a lot like a one-off on a BMW 3 series.

That would be a problem - BMW styling is not the target to pick

Fairly decent. Should be a good option for hyundai owners looking to change, also Buick, Lincoln and Acura buyers.

Stand-alone Genesis dealers are coming and will be timed to coincide with Genesis crossovers. Ground breaking should be happening soon.

Three sausage strategy seems the way to go. Everyone else does it. Buyers are conditioned to accept it. Logical to follow it. So go do it. I am still not sure who buys these cars. Has to be a very particular type of person that convinces themselves it is the same as the better brands but he is "smarter" for buying from Hyundai.

Well given their superior reliability...

The G80 and G90 have been delightfully good in this respect.

The stereotype of millennials is that we are brand/bling crazy, but the actual demographic research suggests we are seeking value and quality. And given that American car buyers see reliability as synonymous with quality, Genesis is quite stellar in both regards.

And @TomM before we have to suffer through another of your Jack Daniels rants about how you personally need to see the research questions so that you can pronounce to all humanity whether the findings are valid, just save your blowing wind.

Superior reliability to what? Certainly not compared to Toyota / Lexus. And we all know what the interiors of Korean cars look like after 5 years, they have a long way to go in many departments. Hyundai/Kia is still not Toyota/Honda, let alone this attempt at a luxury brand. G80 shows it's price point very clearly inside. Let's hope this does a better job. Service levels are good though, which is promising.

The Germans. The G80 and G90 have very few warranty incidents, but the same cannot be said for Audi, BMW, and Mercedes. You clearly have anti-Korean bigotry because the G80 is decidedly NOT out of the ballpark when it comes to fit and finish.
