Only REAL Drivers Needed - TVR Pulls Covers Off The 500 HP Griffith Muscle Car

Reborn British brand TVR has finally pulled the covers off its all-new sports car, the Griffith. Reviving the name first used by TVR back in 1991, the all-new model has been revealed at the Goodwood Revival. Production will begin late next year with Launch Editions of the car priced from £90,000.

TVR boss Les Edgar describes the model as a ‘British muscle car,’ and ‘offers a level of sophistication, comfort and practicality never seen by the brand before.’ Revealed in a race car livery at Goodwood, it confirms TVR’s intention to return to motorsport in the future.

The source misstates the horsepower TVR pegs the power at 480 in their communications to perspective owners, but still.

I love the Sagaris touches in the tail and the bonkers side pipes.

The face though is far less than ideal because it is too tame.

But in this round there is ABS and air bags, so that's a plus.

I cannot wait to see one in person.

I have been waiting a long time for this but unfortunately it will not be available in the US for another 4 years or so :( Matt, i knew you would be the first to comment. I love it! Hopefully the resurrect some of the flamboyant colors to make up for the "tame" front end.

Oh and that interior looks like business as usual for TVR. Gold colored switches, crazy dash binnacles, and swoopy door panels!

To me - it looks a lot like a Mazda Miata from the front - and of course - the first 500 will be special HIGH END versions with Full leather and and INFOTAINMENT system - and SOME are still available.

I admit it does look good- but at $100,000 plus - it certainly is not aimed at the same class of driver the original TVRs were and By the time it gets to the US - 4 years - if ever - expect a $150,000 sticker. Matt - save your pennies.

Once again, @TomM you speak pretending to know something and make a fool of yourself. When adjusted for inflation, the price of the new Griffith is very close to the price of the last Sagaris models available. Thus it is aimed at the same customers.

Gee I wonder who reserved a Griffith or two when the order books first opened.

MAybe cut a deal with Ford and use Ford dealers to sell/service it?

Given how many Mustang components are in it, that would make sense. Part of the deal with allowing TVR to use the 5.0 engine and to let Cosworth massage it was that Ford got to look over their shoulder for their own benefit. The structure of the Griffith would be a great idea for the next generation Mustang to consider.

A convertible version of the Griffith is expected to be shown in the next few months as is a Griffith S (current name floated by TVR)--rumored to have the engine from the Shelby Mustang GT500. Enthusiasts are already wanting that model to have a more aggressive face and be called Sagaris.

Because Gordon Murray's design is so quickly adaptable, a 2+2 would be easy to do on a shoestring. That could resurrect the Tuscan or Cerbera name. The 2+2 and the 10 speed automatic with paddles would be the logical TVR to return to The States with.
