Is Lexus On The Verge Of Taking Down The German Elite With A 600+HP LS F?
Rumors about a Lexus LS F have been floating around for awhile and Toyota Motorsport GmbH even showed off a 641 hp concept several years ago.

We haven't heard much about the car lately but Road&Track has discovered a picture of the model on Instagram. Apparently taken from a Japanese magazine, the image shows the high-performance sedan would have an aggressive front fascia with a massive spindle grille that is flanked by large air intakes.

More of this "taking down the Germans" bs from autospies. Maybe it's just Lexus just trying to give their customers a performance option. Ever think of that? Not everyone in existence is gunning for the frikkin Germans.

Subject: "Is Lexus On The Verge Of Taking Down The German Elite..."

Will AutoSpies get more creative at inspiring member interaction than chanting "Fight! Fight! Fight!" in a school-yard ?

I think its not Autospies but this Agent009 clown. He follows the tabloid model - Put a headline (doesn't have to be true) that will get clicks -> make ad money.

I actively avoid clicking his stories as that is what enables this kind of BS posts. Didn't check the poster's name this time.

Not sure if this will appeal to any Lexus buyers. Are they that sort of customer?
Lexus F has no real cachet or history to fall back on really. M and AMG models have been around a long time. 600hp is barely table stakes for a top performance sedan at that price level. Good luck to them if they bring it to market.

This car maybe ugly to some, but it surely has lot of character and flavor compare to Vanilla-ish E class, S class, 7 Series and A8. I have a feeling the all new LS will look striking and stand out in real life.

LSF with 600BHP V8 is a real possibility considering Lexus doesn't offer V8 in standard all new LS. One high performance V8 can power the whole lineup like GSF, LSF, LCF..etc to go head to head with corresponding 63 AMGs from Mercedes.

In a word, "no."

I agree with TheSteve. Lexus' goal is not to "take down the Germans." It is to have a viable alternative to the other flagships and to add luster to their line-up. This new LS does look distinctive, especially the interior (and unfortunately the grill), and it is good to have more choices.

Never going to happen. Really just a pointless exercise.

Doubling down on the ugliest front end in the industry.

I never imagined the visually-challenged Lexus/Toyota designers could make the car even more grotesque looking than it already is. But they somehow managed it.

Until Lexus can convince the buying public, especially the wealthy buying public, that it's a performance brand, the Germans are safe. The RC-F and GS-F so far have made zero impact just like the LF-A before them. Sure, Lexus styling may, subjectively, have more character, but does it really translate to desirability? And, really, the only true dynamically styled car in the stable is the LC (and even in person, outside of the front-end, it's very underwhelming). All the others are mundanely-styled cars with these in-your-face, polarizing grills.

I would love an LSF. Then again, a Shelby Continental would be lovely too.

The new LS will be the sales leader, mark my words.....Just like the new RX that you guys said was ugly. It out sells all other luxury SUV's...
