US Issues NAFTA Draft Requiring Mexico To Raise Worker Wages And Work Conditions
The U.S. on Tuesday unveiled draft text on labor standards during the negotiations on modernizing the North American Free Trade Agreement as top officials from Canada, the United States and Mexico joined talks in Ottawa.

The U.S. said the labor proposal would ensure enforceable mechanisms to raise labor standards in the NAFTA but Canadian labor unions said it was inadequate.

I support this. Mexico won't withdraw as the US is their main market. Better to bring everyone up than race for the bottom. Similar to what Europe did with Spain in the late 70s early 80s after Spain re-emerged as a true democracy following the death of the notorious right wing government of Franco.
