Tesla Ramps Up Powerwall Shipments To Puerto Rico, Musk To Meet With Governor On Rebuilding Power Grid

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said on Friday the company will send more battery installers to Puerto Rico to help restore power after Hurricane Maria knocked out all power on the island more than two weeks ago.

Musk also said in a tweet that he looked forward to talking to Puerto Rico Governor Ricardo Rossello on Friday about what Tesla could do to help restore power.

"The internal Tesla Powerwall install team in (Puerto Rico) is very small right now. Sending experienced installers from continental U.S. to hire and train local team as fast as possible," Elon Musk said in a tweet, referring to the company's Powerwall battery system.

Musk wants money--nothing wrong with that--but this is NOT about humanitarian aid.

Can you tell me what's wrong with having a house backup battery? You can have backup power for days and if you attach some solar panels you get some free power.

It's ok that you don't want a house battery backup or even for your electronics/computers but why deny people who wants them. How hypocrite of you.
These are good for places that have frequent power outages. Sending the powerwalls to PR would be a good proof of concept that this works. If it does not work, the product will fail on its own.

What a c^nt.

If the publicity whore really wanted to help, he’d ship another Tesla product, solar panels. What better way to fix the power grid than replacing it with non-renewables. Nothing renewable about batteries.
Please, reporters; keep eating Musk’s BS.
