Got That Check Book Open Yet? First USED Tesla Model 3 Hits The Market For Only $150,000
Teslas current low production volume for Model 3 combined with the fact that there are over 400,000 people who placed reservations for the vehicle leads to a very unique supply/demand situation for the electric car at the moment.

As it would be expected, the lucky few who managed to get the car first could try to resell it for a profit. We now get the first example of that with the very first used Tesla Model 3 listed for sale at $150,000.

The vehicle VIN#209 was listed on Craigslist last night in Santa Cruz, California. The listing reads:

Funny! Somebody will definitely buy it!

When the Chevy Bolt first came out, my best friend (who is on his second Model S and who also has a Model X) bought one of the first Chevy Volts for list and then thought it was so cool, he got another one a month later from a rural Chevy dealer for his spouse to drive. Just for fun, he put the second one on Ebay a month later and some guy in the UK paid him $80,000 for it and it went sailing away to the UK.

Who knows, if Tesla doesn't get in front of their production problems, this early batch of Model 3's might be the only ones produced. The Model 3 could be a future "Tucker".

So how long is this Tesla employee going to have a job?

More likely he does not work there anymore and then decided to sell it.

Keep in mind that this is an "asking" price, and not the transaction price. Check out Amazon for crazy prices, like an SSD with an asking price of $999 when the exact same unit is commercially and readily available, and retails for $249. Some vendors do this to take advantage of the obsessive and/or the ignorant.

This Craigslist listing appears to be testing the high-water mark for "There's a Sucker Born Every Minute." Where's that obsessive Tesla fan who'll pay anything to get his hands on that coveted Model 3?

THe fact is - unless they are brain dead - there will NEVER be a reason to pay that amount for a model 3. MAYBE if it was the first model S - but the Model 3 will never be rare enough to garner such a price in the market.

I agree with TheSteve though - there are lots of things on Amazon - and Ebay - and Craigslist - that are priced beyond comprehension. Often people make a big deal about an item being rare - or an antique - but when you can actually buy something for 10% of their price they are just being unrealistic.

As a lame brain progessive democrat party member, I will gladly buy TWO of the wonderful reasonably priced electric Tesla #3.

I must exercise my democrat party leaders orders faithfully and NEVER attempt to think for myself!

So I would spend $150k on a Model 3 when I can walk into a Tesla store and drive away with a Model S for less, why?

Can think of 2 reasons:

1.) You are a competitor and you want to get your hands on one asap to dismantle and reverse engineer (Ford bought an early Model X for $250k).

2.) You are a crazy collector and want one of the early VINs only available to employees. (I don't see the point since there are no exclusive features on these vs. the ones they will sell to regular customers... maybe if it was VIN 001 signed by the people that made it, but not VIN 209)

$150k I would pick up a 2013 P85 for $60k and then a 991 C4S with the savings.

That is probably the worst interior I have ever seen on a car. Tesla has a lot of idiots brainwashed.

I bet you though the iphone was ugly when it first came out 10 years ago as well... "I'll never buy anything without buttons" or something to that effect right?

The Model 3 interior design is the beginning of the next generation of cars, eventually everything else will look like a rotary phone. I guarantee every other company is going to copy their approach.
