Who's More FULL Of Sh!t? GM Exec Or Tesla's Elon Musk?
“To be what an SAE level five full autonomous system is, I don’t think he has the content to do that,” Miller stated.

According to Miller, General Motors will have the ability to produce level four autonomous driving vehicles “within quarters”, however, this technology will be used in a ride-sharing system before it becomes available to the general public...

...“The level of technology and knowing what it takes to do the mission, to say you can be a full level five with just cameras and radars is not physically possible. I think you need the right sensors and right computing package to do it. Think about it, we have LIDAR, radar and cameras on this. The reason we have that type of sensor package is that we think you need not be deeply integrated in to be level five, you should have redundancy...

...“Could you do it with less and be less robust? Probably. But could you do it with what’s in a current Tesla Model S? I don’t think so.”

Elon's Autokill technology speaks volumes for Tesla's lack of engineering prowess.

If anyone that has a car with level 4 autonomy uses it for more than a slow drive around the neighbourhood to entertain their kids is nuts. Way to dangerous and unproven to trust it on your way to work, let alone with your family in tow.

Another breed of pissing Calvins at GM. How quaint!

When you can't beat your opponents, you talk trash. Just ask BobM, he knows all about talking trash.

GM has to think about a much wider customer base for usage. Larger automakers have to think about the wider scale of liabilities - at the initial offering for that level of autonomous vehicles. Tesla has been able to develop as they go along essentially. A redundant system will be able to drive the car, track other traffic, & keep records/logs of all the system input data points.

Insurance on an autonomous car will probably be astronomical!

Hmmmm, if we use the "DJT Honesty Scale," then both GM's Miller and Tesla's Musk are lightweights.

(PS: Watch the red number below this post spin as the Tiki Torchers march by and click away ;-)

@-TheSteve I love to see the hate on my reasoned, thoughtful and fact-based posts as well. #Avengers

CanadianComments re "Fact-based posts" -- In one of my favorite televised interviews the prez says to the interviewer "Crime has never been higher." The interviewer challenges him (with facts) and tells him that crime in the US has been in steady decline for over a decade (and it has, except for a slight increase in 2015). The prez replies, "That doesn't matter. People believe ME!"

I have to admit, the prez is right on this! Facts don't matter. What is doesn't matter. People think, and choose, and act, and they vote, based on what they *believe*.

"General Motors expects to have fully autonomous vehicles in showrooms within the next 15 years" in other words we have no idea if it will be possible or affordable for mass-market.

As is typical for "Radical Right" BobM, he cherry-picks data to support his extremist and hateful views. If you go to virtually any *reputable* site (e.g., FBI... **NOT** places like Breitbart), we'll see numbers such as these: http://www.disastercenter.com/crime/uscrime.htm (source: FBI UCS Annual Crime Reports)

You'll notice that even though the US population has risen over the past decade, for the nation overall: (1) total crimes, and (2) crimes per 1,000 population (i.e., the "Crime Rate"), have both been in decline for the past 10 years. Fear-mongering news and politicians would have you believe otherwise, as a fearful population willingly gives up freedoms and rights, and they support a "strong (and violent) government" to protect them from The Evils (e.g., Mexican rapists, Mexican drug pushers, the "Islamification" of America, violent immigrants, non-Whites, etc.)

Suggestion to readers: Don't trust what people say and write on the Net (that applies to what I say and write, as well!) Do your own due diligence, research, and fact-checking. A critical mind is an informed mind.

@BobM as always wearing his #MAGA hat way too tight. Facts count, Right wing BS rides the bus. Try picking up a book or getting your facts from reputable sources at least. Happy to debate any subject when we are all using the same data points.

To address Hateful Bob, one final time, just to give him enough rope to hang himself: BobM alleges "...Then you post a 404 dead link!..."

Bob, to access the link I provided...
1) Open a new web browser window
2) Copy the text below into the address field of your browser
http://www.disastercenter.com/crime/uscrime.htm
3) Hit the Enter key

Did you, by any chance, also include the text "(source: FBI UCS Annual Crime Reports)" (without the quotes) as part of the URL? Don't do that!

BobM also wrote: "...All Breitbart did was focus on the facts..."

You showed your racist stripes in AutoSpies forums in the past (duly noted). Thanks for your latest confirmation, here, now, of being an Alt.Right-er. Your hateful, spiteful, and contemptuous posts speak for themselves, but up until now, I thought you were just a generic racist hater. I didn't know you were an Alt.Right-er too. It makes sense, considering your corrosive demeanor.

Cheerio, and hate on :-/

BobM, in the tradition of Alt.Right-ers, you engage in revisionist history and "alternative facts." The prez said "Crime is up." He did **NOT** say "ONLY certain kinds of crime are up." He did **NOT** say "crime is up ONLY in some regions of the US."

Meanwhile, the facts says that overall, crime is down. So your assertion that "[this] is exactly what Trump was speaking too" is a transparent and bogus claim.

Folks life yourself in The Radical Right (including Alt.Right-ers, such as yourself; **NOT** all Conservatives) do this routinely: They put words in others mouths, and they revise the meaning of those words to conform to their own beliefs. And they just make stuff up to support their beliefs, and pass it off as facts. Like Kellyanne Conway, in your mind, even when you're wrong, you're still right.

I believe this is a prudent time for for me to bow out of this exchange.
