Tesla is expected to deliver 3,005 Model 3 units by end of 2017
While Tesla Motors continues to struggle with regards to the assembly of its much awaited Tesla Model 3, investment firm Oppenheimer & Co. is confident that its previous production estimates of the mid-size all-electric sedan would still be reached by the end of 2017.

There is no denying that Tesla is still ramping up production of the new Model 3, but previous reports had indicated that production woes have been bugging the electric carmaker. In its previous estimates, Oppenheimer said Tesla would be able to produce 3,005 units of the Model 3 in 2017.

I'll call it right now, the number is going to be much higher than that.

SJD, why do you so blindly follow this other than your job depends on it? Is it your job also to go on auto news websites to keep preaching the Tesla model as if it can do no wrong? How many times does Lord Musk have to keep making production promises, quality promises, only to fail them before you will at least be honest the least bit?

Everyone here has their biases, so it's ok to have them, but usually most in here can at least admit when their bias towards a brand has an issue, flaw, or problem. You blindly defend Tesla like it's this automotive genius. All he did was beat the other stupid manufacturers to building an attractive EV, the model S, not the 3 or X. Too bad he couldn't build them with any quality.

I'm all for innovation, but let's have a little humility in it. Elon acts as if he single-handedly build the car industry himself, or revolutionized it. Which he hasn't even done that. He has brought an "affordable" EV to market. The model 3 is not reasonable for most people, and the only way he can even keep it near entry level luxury is to get the backing of California to put their own subsidy out there to keep him afloat when he burns through the federal credits.

Tesla is a joke. I don't want them to fail, but I would like to see them be a little more humble, reliable, and honest.

I'm closest to a Libertarian at this point. I would be surprised if they hit 20,000 in December, but it will be more than 3,005 by the end of the year. Also, I don't work for Tesla, but wouldn't be opposed to it ;)

@RzRBackCarGuy81 - I definitely have bias towards Tesla. I am proud to be born and raised in Silicon Valley and take huge pride in a company that came from nothing, that everyone expected would fail, and then see it become what it is today. They made an amazing car with the Model S, single best purchase I have ever made and I buy a lot of gadgets. It is a disruptive company that has forced all other company to expedite their EV plans by 5 years or more, that deserves some respect... especially considering it is a US company that manufactures 100% of their cars here.

I'm also not blindly following Tesla, I've been critical of them in the past including the last PR statement they made about consumer reports. They are not perfect, but I have had a great experience with both the car and the company, so I am going to be honest about that. Right now they are my favorite company to follow news on.

They misplaced the decimal point...its 300.5 (Tesla is counting the 'sectioned' Model 3 that is used for demo purposes at the Tesla corporate offices as 1/2 of a sale).

RzRBackCarGuy81 got it right. Without the subsidies, there is no EV business model that makes sense. Once they end the sales will tank as they did in Australia.

Without the subsidies there will be no auto business at all.

I'm rubber and you're glue... whatever you say bounces off me and sticks to you.

Don't react to what anyone says about your product, especially if it is baseless. As well saying it will be like an "average car" isn't the worst thing anyone could say about a product they have not yet seen or driven. Take the high road and be happy for the receipt of the free press.
