Telsa Brings Puerto Rican Hospital Back To Life With Powerpacks

While we have been talking about Puerto Rico looking at long-term solutions for its energy problems and reportedly considering Tesla’s microgrid solution, the focus is currently very much on short-term solutions.

Some medical service centers are still in urgent need of stable power as evidenced by doctors performing surgery using only light from their cell phones.

Now Tesla unveils its first solar and energy storage project at a hospital in Puerto Rico.

Kudos to Tesla for its relief work in Puerto Rico. Whoever bad mouthed their efforts should eat your words now (yeah mre30 that's you).

I'm not a Tesla or Musk fan, but I take my hat off and bow respectfully for wins like this! Well done. Respect.

whats interesting to note that other PV producers are so quiet on this front. as much of an asshat Elon is, can't fault him for this.

I'm surprised they were able to get this going so quickly. There is huge demand for PowerPacks, they are probably delaying all other solar projects to do this.

This is a temp. installation until the grid comes back. Then they would have to perhaps raise the panels to free up the parking lot.

Very impressive indeed!

I see it as him doing what decent people do -- Americans helping fellow Americans. Sometimes it takes a disaster to unite a people, and to see humanity at its best.

Well bless his heart! And he's not getting a cent of public money. Oh wait. He is. #hypocrite.

MDarringer: Jeeze, dude, you sure are hateful! Do you hold the view that people can only do good if they aren't compensated for it? Or does compensation of any sort negate positive value?
- A doctor is just a shill because she gets paid?
- A psychologist or other councillor is just a business person?
- A teacher can't be dedicated, or of service to others, because a paycheck means they're just doin' their job?
- No such thing as a heroic firefighter, or national guardsperson, or cop, because after all, they get paid to put their life on the line?

Man dude, you sure are messed up :-( You come across as a bitter, hateful person who's incapable of seeing good in another human being.

@TheSteve Not hateful at all. Truthful yes. I realize that as a liberal, whenever someone speaks truthfully that you'll see it has hate speech.

Typically, you say one thing and then when you get a response you don't like--because it's truthful--you attempt to reposition the point you made to smear the person who called you out on your hypocrisy.

You can't have it both ways. You painted Musk as being charitable, but the reality is that he's using this as an opportunistic marketing ploy. The "charity" isn't coming out of Musk's pocket. It's coming out of the American taxpayer's pocket.

As for me being hateful, well you have that down pat given your blood wars with Bob.

MDarringer: In typical MDarringer style, you imagine something, you attribute it to someone else, and then argue against it.

You write “…The "charity" isn't coming out of Musk's pocket…”

And who, besides your imagination, claimed Musk was doing this for free or for charity? You do have some interesting pathology running there :-/

Nice try @TheSteve YOU claimed he was being charitable.

You implied that Musk was being charitable when you said: "I see it as him doing what decent people do -- Americans helping fellow Americans. Sometimes it takes a disaster to unite a people, and to see humanity at its best."

So, @TheSteve, where did you get your doctorate in psychology from? Oh wait. You don't have one.

Once again, you are a hypocrite.

MDarringer: Oh, now I see your error (or cynical thought patterns)! You assumed that because I noticed someone was doing something decent, that I *implied* they did it for free, because in *your* mind, people are only decent when they do things for free. Please note, this is the working of your twisted mind. I didn’t say it, imply it, write it, suggest it, or otherwise. In fact, the written record on this page (my post of 10/24/2017 11:48:10 PM, for example), clearly states I do *NOT* imply Musk was doing this for free! And yet, you “see” (believe) the opposite of what’s staring you in the face. Wow :-/ There are the facts, and then there’s the stuff in your mind, which you attribute to others.

I just see the good in (many) people, and in Americans. I realize in “MattLand,” this is not so.

Your pain, Matt, is typical of that experienced by other Alt-Right-ers. You’re angry, hateful, suspicious, and you cannot see good in someone who isn’t on “your side.” In your mind, they’re “the enemy.” You attack those who don’t express your views, which is typical of an Alt-Right-er, such as yourself. You further aggravate your pain by externalizing it, and blaming others for your suffering. You remind me of that Alt-Right, (neo) Nazi, Tiki-Torch marcher who was later identified on social media, and who then got a slew of angry stuff from people who opposed Nazis in general, and him (a Nazi) specifically: he whined about how mean and unjust people are! Similarly, you openly hate and attack people, and then when someone shines a spotlight on your behavior and calls you out for what you are, you try to make yourself out to be a victim, and deflect.

You have no problem *being* an angry, hateful Alt-Right-er. You just have a problem when people call you on it. It really gets under your skin!

(Waiter, check please.)

@TheSteve Your retirement must not be going as planned given that your #1 function in life is now to bully people here. You have routinely shown yourself to be an utter buffoon as you post with lack of concision about your glorious life in an Audi or when you're busy brow-beating someone as racist / anti-feminist / Alt-right / or whatever pejorative term your little lefty brain seizes on in any given moment.

Thank you, Matt. I could not have received a finer demo from you if I had paid you! Re-read my post of 10/27/2017 3:18:57 AM, where I point out:
- You are angry and hateful
- You attack persons who don’t think like you do (search MDarringer posts in conjunction with the words: moron, snowflake, libtard, idiot, etc.)
- Like the Nazi Tiki-Torch marcher who got ID’d on Facebook: when someone shines a light on you and calls you out for your behavior, you deflect, blame others, and you make yourself out to be “the victim.”

As I wrote in closing in my previous post: “…You have no problem *being* an angry, hateful Alt-Right-er. You just have a problem when people call you on it…”

Thank you for standing up and showing your true colors in your post above, and for remove any doubt… if there ever was any.

So "stiffy", do you believe solar panels should be outlawed because they can become projectiles in a hurricane? Or do you realize that virtually ANYTHING -- like road signs, debris, garbage cans, tree parts -- can become projectiles in a hurricane?

@TheSteve

Please open your eyes and reread my comment. I never said the panels are going to be " flying objects of death". Someone else replied that...

For what it's worth, I'm actually pro solar and have a panel on my house.

@stiffy TheSteve doesn't bother to read what people say with a fair eye. He's always looking for some way to make accusatory comments and bully people. I suspect his vegan diet and the cheap vodka is getting to him poor elderly brain.
