Wait, What? Could Honda Be Earmarking THIS As Their S2000 Sucessor?
Last month, we were all besotted with the cutsey Honda EV Concept at Frankfurt, a retro-inspired electric city car concept inspired by the original Honda Civic. And now it has a new sibling: presenting the sleek Honda Sports EV, which has just been revealed at this year’s Tokyo Motor Show. The quirky retro-inspired design clearly takes its cues from the EV Concept, but while that car showcased Honda’s vision of a compact EV designed for the city, this new concept takes the form of a high-performance two-seater electric sports car.

Honda ought to be investing resources in EV.

The Model 3 and Model Y are going to kill the demand for these toys.

That is because EVs, primarily like those from Tesla at the moment, blend phenomenal acceleration with perfect weight distribution. But they are also practical. So what is the need for this Honda then? There isn't.

I agree.

Honda and Toyota seem hell bent on hydrogen that even if all the technological hurdles are overcome, there is no infrastructure to support the fill up.

EVs on the other hand are close to being ready for prime time.

10 years from now EVs will have "gasoline" recharge times, appropriate range, and will not cost an absurd premium as they do now.

10 years from now hydrogen will still not be ready.

I know this is an EV, but this ISN'T a concept with production intent. Honda and Toyota are much more invested in hydrogen and that focus is dumb as bricks. Honda is slow on the uptake. YOU stand corrected.

I like the styling, original without being too busy. Not the best looking car but unique and not ugly either. Honda should build it. I thought Mini should do the same thing with their proposed sports car, the Superleggera.

This is so Japanese they have to build it. Glad that Honda is finally sticking to its roots, not shying away from them. Better late than never. I know of at least one person who would give up their future Model 3 for this, practicality can go to hell.
