Has BMW Decided To Step It Up A Notch? Do YOU See A Little NX In The All-new X2?
Yesterday was an interesting day. That's because BMW decided to roll out its latest piece of steel. Named the BMW X2, it's a more sporting approach to the compact sport-utility vehicle.

There's something pretty peculiar about it though. It is an even-numbered vehicle in the product portfolio, yet it has four doors. As does the X1.

Is anyone else scratching their head.

If you look a bit closer at the X2's details though, you may start to notice something. It is a bit more edgy and a bit more aggressive. After speaking with Agent 001, we're starting to think it's actually a bit Lexus NX-ish. It's not a particularly German teutonic design, that's for sure.

Equipped with a larger front grille to give it some presence, squinty headlights and steeply raked front and rear windscreens, it's got a touch of an attitude. It's clearly worked for Lexus, so, can the Bavarians repeat the same success?

What say YOU, Spies? Are you seeing any Lexus NX in the all-new X2?

The X2 is so much nicer than the NX. It wouldn't surprise me if the X2 becomes a massive hit for them.

I don't see it, NX is an oragami design. I don't see that style in the X2 at all. I like the X2, seems like it will be. a great competitor with the Evoque as well as a lot of the other premium small SUVs. They need to put the 35i motor in it though, that would make it special.

Hmmm it also needs to loose the lipstick looking front end intake surround.

^ paint it the same color as the vehicle and it'll look much better.

There is nothing NX-y about the X2. The X2 has a cleaner more refined shape and its lineage is clearly the other BMW X vehicles.

The X2 looks great (except for the lower grill surround.) The NX still makes my eyes bleed.

Love the term "adverticles"

Considering BMW hasn't advertised with us that's a rather stupid thing to say.

Actually given the breathlessness of the headline's euphoria and the plethora of redundant pictures, @zlives' use of the term "adverticle" is rather appropriate.

For pictures, why not just do rear 3/4, front 3/4, and interior shots (i.e. 3 shots)? Or at least not multiples of the same perspective? There are more than a dozen of the face in the above post.
