Can You Guess What Super Car Has A Top Secret $30,000 Factory Incentive Right Now?
Psst… Have I got a deal for you! There’s a low-profile $30,000 factory incentive out there on a really great mid-engined supercar. You could be looking at just $1,500 a month on a lease, which is about what you’d pay to buy a new Corvette Grand Sport over five years. Or you might get a car with a $165k sticker for just $122,000. Are you FREAKING OUT right now? Or are you waiting for me to tell you which one?

Well, let’s see… It’s not the Ford GT, because those are sold out. It’s not the Ferrari 488GTB, which is on a waiting list and subject to $100k worth of additional dealer markup. It’s not the Lamborghini Huracan, used examples of which are fetching close to MSRP. It’s not even the Audi R8, which has some nice lease programs at the moment but which still generally sells for sticker or close to it.

That's what happens when they didn't give it a serious battery and make it a plugin. How much discount does BMW give for an i8?

Wait a bit longer and they'll be further markdowns. Another $10k or $15k off should really start moving them off the dealer lots.
There is no doubt that the NSX is a:
1) Great car
2) Great piece of automotive technology
3) GREAT DISAPPOINTMENT

For a good review of the car (including the fact that it "simply isn't selling"):

I wonder if it would sell well if it was priced to compete with the 'Vette. The 'Vette isn't cheap, but it is "relatively affordable" compared to other serious sports cars like Ferrari, but the 'Vette has the advantage of decades of reputation and a huge fan-base that actually buys the cars.

While I loved the original NSX in its time, the NSX II leaves me cold.

Well, it's a shame. The NSX is a good car, possibly bordering on great. It's biggest, sore-thumb problem is the price. A well-optioned car for $200K is a bit insane considering its best selling car is an SUV. Well, its best selling cars are 2 SUVs. What Honda/Acura also seemed to miss was the fact that there's more competition in the space. When the original NSX came, there was no R8. No McLaren. No GTR on these shores.
The other problem for Acura is that they've virtually done nothing with their sedan lineup to improve the brand image. If they had ANY sense, they would have introduced Type-S models for the ILX, TLX, and RLX, at the same time the NSX was introduced. But no, they give us A-Spec for the TLX. And they give us a new nose and rear for the RLX. At least Ford has the Mustang, Focus and Fiesta RS, and even that Fusion Sport thingie that makes some connection to the GT. Shit, even the new Accord probably is more of a performer than the TLX A-Spec.

The NSX is like a grown up's LIONEL train set.

$60K off and it would still need an incentive. The NSX should have been a $60K base product.

$60k base? Surely you jest. I think it would have done great at $100-120k with the latter being fully equipped.

I'm not jesting at all.

Acura needs to earn its stripes and it has not done that. Doing an NSX that is totally divorced in price from the rest of the line up does no good for their bread and butter cars.

The NSX is a MULTIPLE of the cost of the next expensive Acura.

The very reason the Corvette has been good for Chevrolet is that it is not stupidly more expensive than the next expensive Chevrolet.

Moreover, if Acura had a sports car that was a mainstream hit--relatively speaking--it would imbue sportiness on lesser Acuras.

People here can be self-wetting fanboys of supercars like the NSX, LFA, and GTR made out of pure unobtanium, but NONE of those vehicles has done anything to give the brand's mainstream cars any benefit.

No. $60k for this NSX is ridiculous. $60k barely gets you an Audi S5 Prestige or a nicely optioned (not even fully optioned) BMW 440i xDrive. For the tech and performance of the NSX, a starting price of $110K would have been more appropriate.

That being said, I do not disagree with the fact that Acura needs to focus on offering high(er) performance cars at a more realistic price point. As I said above, Type-S models of their lineup should have been part of the strategy along with an S2000 successor badged as an Acura.

This NSX is a patently stupid car--as was the first one--for Honda/Acura. If the brand name does not go with the price then making it is foolish. The NSX and the LFA are Honda and Toyota's "Phaeton" move.

Interesting point. I've checked multiple resources and there is no indication of a factory incentive of any kind on the NSX. The author notes is as a "low-profile" offer, but still didn't cite any sources of the information.

At $100k, I would have bought one as my winter beater. But not at $150k.

That said, everyone's right, it would do nothing relative to my lack of interest in buying any of Acura's mainstream products.

alright guys, thanks to Autospies and this news, i just went to my local dealership and test drove the NSX.
as a previous i8 owner, i can say this car is worlds better than an i8. the handling , acceleration , exhaust note - even though its coming from speakers, is a real joy to drive, this car is SO DAMN FAST !
wasnt happy with the lease quote i received, $1600 with 2500 out of pocket on a 160k car, 36 months , 10k miles a year. not terrible, but i expected better for a car "discounted" by $30k
i was expecting/hoping for $1300-1400. we'll see if he calls me back , but stop hating guys, this car is the real deal . definitely worth $110-125k
