Tesla Notifies Reservation Holders That Their Model 3 Will Take A While, Unless They Upgrade
Following Tesla’s report that Model 3 volume production has been delayed by three months to March 2018, the electric car maker officially updated its expected Model 3 vehicle delivery window on its website.

“Thank you again for your Model 3 reservation. We’re making significant progress clearing early production bottlenecks but, as we continue to work through them, your estimated delivery timing will now be slightly later than we originally expected. Over the next 24 hours, you can log into your Tesla Account at any time to view your updated delivery window.” read an email sent to Model 3 reservation holders.

This is where you start seeing a decline in Model 3 *orders* (AKA production slot reservations), rather than their conversion into actual sales.

That is a very shady thing to do...especially when all the cars have the same battery pack unlocked to different "capacities" via software.

That is not the case, they are planning to use two different packs on the Model 3, just like the original 60 and 85 were two different packs and today's 75 and 100 lines are different packs.

Meanwhile GM delays Euro sales of the Bolt in order to focus its manufacturing capacity on the USA. Bolt manufacturing capacity is 2500/month and sales are already exceeding that. Bolt sales are going up every month and closing in on YTD sales Model S sales. Look for Bolt ads, "Want an EV, Why Wait"?

Bait and switch

If one looks at Tesla sales by month for 2017 it is clear that they have a regular end of the quarter "burst" followed by low sales the first month or two of the next quarter. Since sales are directly tied to production with no buffering dealer inventory it is pretty clear that there are a lot of manufacturing issues. It is anything but a well functioning operation. This is even before the Model 3 issues.

Isn't this "bait-and-switch" class action here we come.
