Weak Sauce: Supra Exhaust Sound Fails To Make The Grade During Nurburgring Testing
If you are a Toyota Supra enthusiast, you may want to block your ears for the video below. It is not encouraging.

Late last week, a prototype for the next-generation Supra was filmed accelerating near the streets of the Nurburgring sounding bland and no more exciting than a Toyota Camry or 86.

Later filmed at the German circuit itself, this prototype was even drowned out by the turbo four-cylinder of the Porsche 718 Cayman it was following. If you were hoping the new Supra would come with an engine as exciting as the famed 2JZ, you’ll be sorely disappointed.

Dreadful! However it is just a prototype and hopefully this will be corrected further into development.

I agree.

The Supra is looking like more and more of a failure as time goes on: Camry exhaust, Gazoo brand, dull styling, and most likely a good $10K overpriced because of the BMW components under it.

I have seen the interior and it does look very very cool. However, when manufacturers preview the exterior designs so far in advance the design looses its wow factor, becoming boring and old news by the time it reaches the market. The NSX was an example, the Lambo SUV in my mind and now this. This Gazoo reported still to be a year away. Personally I've moved on.
