Self-driving bus crashes two hours after launch in Las Vegas... YES this is the future!
"A driverless shuttle bus crashed less than two hours after it was launched in Las Vegas on Wednesday.

The city's officials had been hosting an unveiling ceremony for the bus, described as the US' first self-driving shuttle pilot project geared towards the public, before it crashed with a semi-truck.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the human driver of the other vehicle was at fault, there were no injuries, and the incident caused minor damage."

So their best excuse is that is was the "other driver"! Hmmm score one for the robots.... I guess they aren't good enough to deal with BAD drivers after all.

It appears to me that autonomous cars, busses, and trucks are not yet ready for prime time.

You're right TS, but that's only because there are many, many stupid drivers out there who make everyday driving difficult for everyone else.
All anyone in N.A. does to get their license is pass 1 driving test. After that, it's a simple matter of paying the annual fee to keep it. Doesn't matter how bad of a driver they are, or if they can't admit that they need glasses to drive or whatever.
Simply put, most people/drivers don't care about anything but themselves these days. And as long as they're on the roads controlling their vehicles, it doesn't matter what/who is driving the other cars there are bound to be accidents.
Maybe the answer to reduce accidents is to put bad drivers in autonomous cars.
