Dyson Delays Self Driving Tech So It May Forego Part Suppliers And Build Cars Totally In House

Dyson's pure-electric car, which is set to launch in 2020, will feature 'some' autonomous technology according to founder Sir James Dyson.

In an interview on the Andrew Marr Show, the vacuum tycoon remained tight-lipped in regard to details on Dyson's upcoming EV but confirmed that the car will have "some driverless in it."

He also reassured Andrew Marr that the vehicle will be built using Dyson-only components, ruling out help from existing manufacturers.

By 2020 - there will be quite a few in the EV business.

At that point - it will be the ones that are better supported by their makers that will win out - which is why I do not believe TEsla or Dyson will - they will not have local sales facilities or service facilities. A 300 mile tow to the nearest service outlet is going to be expensive for those who do not get any more tax breaks.

If Dyson's self driving cars function like his vacuums and fans do, I advise you stay far clear of anything Dyson produces.
