Volvo Pulls Ads Over Failure To Rush To Judgement On Moore Allegations

Volvo has pulled its advertisements from Sean Hannity’s show on Fox News after his coverage of sexual misconduct allegations made against Roy Moore.

Volvo is the latest advertiser to pull its ads from "Hannity" in the wake of the prime-time host's coverage of Moore, the Alabama GOP Senate candidate accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women. Keurig and Realtor.com both said they were pulling their ads in recent days.

Will be interesting to see this pan out. If you listen to the entire broadcast in question, Hannity did preface his comments extensively by condemning Moore if the allegations are true. But he supported waiting on passing judgement until all of the facts were in. Oddly that was ignored by most media but is readily accessible if you attempt to research it.

It appears guilty until proven innocent is the new thing. This is all turning into a feeding frenzy between Hollywood and DC.

That's of course unlike the Hollywood (Democrat) people who haven't been fired - oh wait, they were fired....it goes both ways but people like you refuse to see both sides.

Right. this is AutoSpies, not Political Spies. Keep the politics out. And for what it's worth, it works both ways. Each party will protect their own and condemn the opposition. Let's not pretend we're blind to that.

In think it is interesting how the politics do play in the game though. By all means Hannity is controversial and will pay a price for it at times. But these days the the advertisers are hyper sensitive to anything other than the mainstream whether it is wrong or right.

AutoSpies in general will look at both sides before jumping the gun.

All advertising shuns controversy, left or right. It is not surprising that Volvo shunned controversy.

The (implied) assumption behind Agent009's observation is that Volvo did not want to offend liberals. He deems it noteworthy to draw attention to this assumption because he thinks liberals, as a social class, are (1) too easily offended and (2) hypocrites. This assumption, however, has nothing to do with cars.

I come to this site to read about what's new with cars. I understand that those who run AutoSpies and the most active commenters are, for the most part, conservative Republicans. As long as I get news about cars, I don't care about the politics of the moderators and my fellow commenters. But I would like to encourage the moderators to keep their editorial focus on cars as much as possible.

These are all 30 plus year old allegations unproven in court. How many settlements for sexual assaults did Bill Clinton have whilst in office -16 and even more before becoming the POTUS. Hillary helped clear these up and even harassed many of his victims into submission or silence.

Where was the main stream media assholes on this one? Oh right the give the Libtards a carte blanche pass just like Barrack "Hussien" Obama (worst prez ever) whom knowingly omitted too and committed fraud in order to get student aid (or was he really foreign born???).

The media today is no longer about reporting the real news based upon verified and checked facts. It is know all about sensationalism, click bait and hype to sell ads, increase a stupid audience. It is all fake news and so slanted to the left.

If this dude did what these woman claim -then cut his nuts off and hang him from a tree after due process. All the media in the free world had gone leftist insane with irresponsible journalism. The protective covenant that protect these vermin needs to be repealed so they too can be sued for slander and libel as they wrongfully destroy lives with their reckless and negligent reporting.

Which hunt everyone if you must -just make it equal but the left know nothing about fighting fair and I believe all the allegations here are all part of the machine.

The point some posters are missing is that there is such a thing as a statute of limitations in the USA for certain crimes. 30-year-old sexual assault cases will never be heard in a courtroom. Mr. Moore, much like with Trump had multiple women come forward claiming they had been assaulted and even someone who worked with him state for the record that he was well known for "dating" teens when he was in his 30's. In this day and age people know enough to know that women don't come forward in numbers without cause. That is not how you want your name in the paper. The stories are very likely true on all counts and the probability of guilt is too high to ignore. If you doubt, ask your wife. She will set you straight. Any advertiser would run just as the GOP is running and looking to dump Moore as a candidate for the open Senate seat.

The point is that these charges are already falling flat. One of the victims is on the Clinton/DNC payroll. This is the DNC's new smear campaign. Accuse a white man of impropriety because it's a guilty until proven...well never proven innocent charge.

I think it's time for the Republicans to smear Democrats. At least with Democrats, there is actual wrongdoing and proof.

@MD The list of women accusing Roy Moore of harassment has now grown to 8. Show a link where one of them is on the DNC payroll. Fox fans would like to believe this is a big organized campaign, but it is really just women standing up for themselves after years of being quiet. There is also a nice story on CNN This AM showing the US Congress has paid out $15M in settlements for cases involving workplace discrimination / harassment at work. 260 settlements in all. http://www.cnn.com/2017/11/16/politics/settlements-congress-sexual-harassment/index.html

Of course volvo pulled ads from something involving a pedophile. Sad when people don't care about the safety of kids.
