Would Trump Be A Happy Camper If Nissan Built Another Plant In the US?
Nissan has been absolutely crushing it in 2017. Even though we have our reservations about some of the company's cars, Nissan is in a good spot to edge out VW as the largest automaker in the world. Part of Nissan's success stems from the hot-selling Rogue SUV, which has overtaken the Toyota Camry as the most popular vehicle in the US. Nissan is currently squeezing out all it can from its current assembly plants, but Automotive News reports that the Japanese company will have to expand in order to keep up with demand.

How about instead of building a new factory, Nissan takes over an abandoned factory, retrofits it, and puts people back to work?

Nissan, use the money to fix your reliability issues first. Your vehicles are almost or as bad as the fat 3. Once that is resolved, put the factory in a UNION FREE ZONE. Like Texas and Mexico (bob lutz, made in America if made in mexico). And build the God Damn Titan raptor competitor.

How about Nissan does whatever the blank they decide is in their best interest as a co.?

We already know what makes Trump a happy camper - but he denies it - just as MOORE does.

That is hate speech. Where is your outrage over Franken? Oh wait. You have none because you're a hypocrite.

@TomM Franken not denying it does not remove your hypocrisy. Franken has admitted his guilt. Are you calling for him to resign or are you OK with him taking time to "reflect"? And if you're OK with him taking time to reflect then shouldn't Moore just "reflect" and move on like you seem to be OK with Franken doing?

MDarringer: Aside from fellow Alt.Right-ers and Neo Nazis, does anyone take your “hypocrisy” bluster seriously? I mean, really? Anyone who has followed the prez or the Republicans can plainly see the decay. Over a dozen women accusing Don. Him bragging that he grabs women by the pussy (video interview with Billy Bush) and barging into women’s change rooms to look at naked women (interview with Howard Stern). He takes ages to say anything about Nazi marchers because he claims he “needs facts,” but he’s quick to condemn anyone who displeases him via Twitter. Moore’s 9 female accusers, and conspicuous silence from the prez and much of The Party. But *anything* about a Democrat, or even private citizen who donated to the Democrat Party (e.g., Weinstein), and he’s all over it, ASAP! The examples of presidential and Party hypocrisy are at epic levels! That’s plain to anyone with eyes and ears. We all know that. Even the “fine people” of the American Nazis know that.

So what’s it all about when you accuse others of hypocrisy? Deflection and nitpicking. This is the standard operating practice of the Alt.Right and many in the Republican Party whenever someone legitimately points something out to them that puts them in an unfavorable light. Deflect and nitpick.

And Matty, that’s your style, too! Deflect and nitpick! TomM points out the prez’s obvious penchant for pussy grabbing and other indiscretions. And you? Deflect and nitpick rather than addressing the point, or perhaps attempting to defend or legitimize the prez’s actions (BTW, doing so would be beyond laughable).

Somewhere between 1/3 and 40% of Americans side with you (to some degree), Matt. Hating anyone who disagrees. Deflecting and nitpicking, and hatefully attacking rather than having intelligent discussions and bringing facts to the table. The rest of Americans? They just shake their head and go, “Oh, that again :-/”

Hearing you talking about hypocrisy, or someone being a bully, or another being hateful, is like when Christian Fundamentalists make noise about the Earth being 6,000 years old. Yeah, there are a lot of believers, but outside of their circle, people just don’t take that seriously.

Back to you, Matt. Time to deflect and nitpick, and attack me for daring to call you out on who you are. I won’t be adding to this thread. I just can’t take you seriously.

"Leave it to you to let go of a big stinky fart that adds NOTHING of value to the conversation."

Your comments are consistently idiotic, both when you're trying to be funny, and when you venture into politics or economics.

Best I can tell you think you're a Republican, yet you don't understand what capitalism is or what the free market is. Car company sells direct to consumers? You somehow construe that as bad for customers and bad for business. And now this comment on Nissan - sounds like something Hillary and her liberal friends would have said, and yet you'll insist you hate her and everything she stands for.

Direct car sales = price fixing = not capitalistic.

Direct selling, fixed pricing, 0% financing, 84-month loans, 2-year leases, cash on the hood in October, crazy cash on the hood in December (just take it) are all part of a free market approach to selling cars. Which sales tools or strategies you use are up to you. Nothing more capitalistic or American than that... the freedom to sell a car any way you can.

Direct selling is NOT free market because the company controls all the stores and therefore they price fix.

@MD-You can keep saying that but it is not true. Other brands (Saturn I think) had fixed pricing at one point. Others have tried it. It is just another choice in how you market your wares. Goes beyond the car business too. Free to do what you want to achieve your desired bottom line. That is the essence of capitalism.

@canadiancomments It actually IS true that creating a monopoly and fixing prices is NOT capitalistic or free market. YOU clearly do NOT understand what a free market is. Tell me exactly how the same vehicle being exactly the same price at say 5 dealers with a take-it-or-leave-it stance to the buyer (1) is competition (which is necessary for a free market) or (2) delivers the buyer the lowest possible price. Because neither is possible when you allow dealers to participate in racketeering.

@MD- Is this not the same thing that Apple is doing with their Apple Stores? I would think all prices are the same for the new iPhone X at the stores here in Canada.

@canadiancomments

Stay with me here...

Attempt to connect the dots...

Embrace logic rather than emotion...

(1) Just because Apple is doing it, does not make it right.

(2) If the prices are all the same everywhere, that's price fixing.

(3) Whenever price fixing happens, the price suits the manufacturer best.

(4) Whenever a manufacturer does this, the consumer pays more because there is no competition that would drive the price down.

I would love to have company stores because that would make me richer, but I guess in your world, it's OK to screw the consumer over.
