ANOTHER Nail In The Coffin For The Germans? Kia's New Stinger Can Be Leased For $299 A Month
There is really nothing else quite like the new Kia Stinger, specifically for the price. It’s a rear-wheel-drive sportback sedan with genuine performance suspension tuning and killer good looks. Not bad at all for something that can cost as little as $299 a month to lease. Cars Direct did some digging around and learned that Kia is indeed offering a $299/month lease for 36 months on a new Stinger powered by the 2.0-liter turbo four with 255 hp and RWD. That’s a solid deal considering the base Stinger typically carries a base price of $32,800.

LOL, no! This just means they are catering the price to the people that will be interested in this vehicle.

Is this not "CASH ON THE HOOD", 009?? The car supposedly is such a screamer of a German killer, yet they're offering this Accord-level lease deal on it already?

Somehow, I don't believe that folks who are seriously considering getting a BMW, Mercedes, Audi, or Porsche are cross-shopping at Kia. So no, I don't believe Kia is a threat to "The Germans", regardless of how good the car may be at this time.

At a recent auto show, I was surprised at how little interest there was around this car. People were literally just paying passing glances at it and no one was looking at the spec sheet on display. Considering how much hype the media and Kia has tried to attach to this car, is it really resonating?

Does Agent009 own stock in Kia? There have been enough Stinger promos in here it's getting ridiculous. I think it's a nice looking car for a Kia, but the propaganda is a bit over the top.

Gee - why would I want a Kia Stinger when I can BUY a complete 15 year old V8 CAMARO with minor body damage and 200,000 miles for the same price!

And it will be considered a step up from the KIA by onlookers too!

Too reliable and well-built to be junk.

A Toyota Corolla is also well built and reliable and is JUNK too.

But it looks like a cheaply made Kia. Ugh!

OK, so the one guy in here who has anything positive to say about this POS is the guy who sells them for a living. Good luck dude.

The exterior and RWD is awesome. The interior lags far behind though IMHO. Yet, an opening salvo to ore premium offerings...

Give KIA credits for making this! I know most people (including myself) cannot overlook the brand but it is RWD, no CVT, and better styling than many other mid size sedans. According to few video reviews, it drives surprisingly nice too.

From what I have read this will be a player. Maybe not so much with BMW, Audi etc... so much but a player nonetheless. Decent looks outside, good enough inside, RWD chassis tuned by German engineers, nice engine options... I think it will do just fine and they probably did not need to have these low lease rates to start out. However I suppose it will get more out the door quickly = more publicity soon after launch to get even more people in the door of Kia dealers. Good luck Matt, should be a pretty easy sell IMHO.

I am a self admitted brand snob and wouldn't be caught dead in a Kia or Hyundai no matter how nice they make them...but this is one hell of a lot of car for the cash sort of reminiscent of when the LS400 first came to market.

So if Hyundai/Kia bought FCA would Alfa Romeo and Maserati suddenly be off your snobbery list?

Matt

Alfa and Maserati were never on my list as I love my money to much to part with it in such a foolish depreciating asset class but yes being perfectly honest it would preclude me. I am OCD and stick to brands until I am dis-serviced and I still remember my buddy's' Hyundai Pony back in high school. What a POS car whom later bought a Alfa 164 which was a even bigger turd stick.
