Alfa's Return To F1 Will Be Accompanied By A Redesigned 4C
The Alfa Romeo 4C carbonfibre sports car will be overhauled in the near future, but it will never be offered with a manual transmission, says Alfa Romeo and Maserati engineering boss Roberto Fedeli.

Speaking at the launch of Alfa Romeo's Stelvio Quadrifoglio, Fedeli confirmed that the lightweight two-seat sports car will be revised with improved suspension and steering, as well as possibly a new engine. A launch in autumn 2018 is likely, with sales commencing January 2019.

Based on the price - you have think that they are actually making money on the car - and since they are coming out with some new 4 cylinder engines (Including one with over 300HP) - YOu would expect them to use them in their signature car - which is actually just another mid-cycle touch up.

And no matter how you compare - it is leagues above any Fiero GM ever made.It is probably more like a small TVR than a Pontiac.

Given the horrific build quality of the 4C, it's definitely more like an old TVR..."It smells of glue and parts of the body are falling off."

The problem with the 4C is that it's MAYBE worth 50% of its sticker price. It starts at $56K and $28K is what it should be.

People like the idea of the 4C but it's truly a despicable car to drive for longer than a test drive.

As it stands right now it is not selling for a few simple reasons. No power steering, unsettled ride over rough roads and no real luggage space. Solution is simple. Take the electric power steering from the Giulia, the 2.0 engine from the Giulia, and retune the suspension. One final thing needs to be done. Open up the front hood to create luggage space. Once these things are done you will have a car that is more comfortable to drive and live with. In addition with the 280 Horsepower engine from the Giulia the 4C will improve it's 0-60 time under 4 seconds. Provided they do not significantly raise the price Alfa should finally have a winner with this car.

And cut the price at least $20K.
