SPIED! FIRST Look At The All-new BMW X7 — NAIAS Debut Imminent?
It wasn't too long ago that the world finally got a good look at BMW's all-new, long-awaited three-row sport-utiltity vehicle. Dubbed the X7, it was something the market's been dying for.

That's simply because the market wants ANY vehicle with seating for up to seven or eight passengers. Consumers want their space and the high-end, luxury market is not any different.

Finally, BMW delivered.

BMW X7

Until now there's been many questions looking at the concept and trying to understand how it would translate to production. Would the massive nostrils make the grade? As you can see above, yes.

In addition, these all-new photos are rather telling of the production version. While the series has full captures of the vehicle in camouflage, the series of images do tell a story.

Take, for example, the massive glass roof that was on the concept and required bracing. That's gone, however, a front sunroof and large piece of glass for the second- and third-row seating will make production.

While there's no snaps of the interior, end-to-end, what you will see is the gear shift and console surrounding that. Also camouflaged but you can see the iDrive controller gets updated as does the switchgear.

Lastly, there's a couple different wheel options, as expected. But the last two pictures in the collection indicate that's what your M Sport package will deliver.

That said, what do YOU make of it, Spies? I think it's safe to say the vehicle will make a 2018 Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS) debut.

The X7 cannot come quickly enough. This will supplant the 7 Series at BMW and sell very well.

Nice - I have to make the obvious observation - if the X7 is being built in Greenville, SC - can we assume that the new Rolls Royce Cullinan will be essentially built there as well?

If BMW was smart - they'd build it there and shake down the Trumpinator to give them a HUUUUUUGGGGGEEEE tax break for building Rolls Royces in SC.

By the way, BMW, it is not too late to call the "Cullinan" (sounds like Andrew Cunanan, Versace's murderer) .

Here are some - Shadow, Dawn, Camargue, or Seraph - any one of those would be much much much better than the Cullinan.

There really is not a less-PC name for a Rolls Royce SUV than Cullinan - a huge diamond plundered from the British Colony South Africa, likely mined by slaves, and then snuck out of South Africa and back to England.

WHAT IS ROLLS ROYCE THINKING?

This is the first thing that comes up when you google Cullinan...

Cullinan Diamond - On January 26, 1905, mine superintendent Frederick Wells made an unusual find in Gauteng, South Africa. Only 9 meters from the surface was a large, blue-white diamond, which he extracted using a pocket knife and took to the mine office to be weighed and inspected. The stone tipped the scales at 3,106 carats (621.35 grams), making it the largest diamond ever found. It was named the Cullinan after Sir Thomas Cullinan, the owner of the diamond mine in which it was found. The diamond was then dispatched to England where it would be entrusted to Premier's London agent, Sigismund Neumann.

It would not surprise me if the Rolls Royce Cunanan has its body stamped there and shipped to England.
