Are YOU An End Of The Year BUYER? If So, What Are Your Top Tips?
Two of the biggest things you hear about buying an all-new car are the following:

1) Buy at the end of the month; and,

2) Buy at the end of the year.

I am not sure it's necessarily in your best interest to do the above, however, we're a bit curious: IF you're an end of the year buyer, what are your top tips going into the dealership?

Think of this as a crowdsourcing experiment, Spies! Give us the details and spread the holiday spirit.

Buyers assume--somewhat erroneously--that THEY are the sales number when the sales volume that is usually published by the manufacturer is how many units they pushed out to dealers. So not all sales are "sales" so to speak.

True, when cars sit on the lot they cost us money, but that doesn't necessarily mean fire-sale pricing is right around the corner at the end of the month or the end of the year.

Getting a good deal means doing some research.

Given how soft the mid-sized sedan market is, NOW is a brilliant time to buy one.

If a vehicle is a new launch--like a Honda Accord or say a VW Atlas--chances are there's money behind the scenes from Honda or VW to make a deal.

Conversely, if a manufacturer is gunning for sales supremacy in a segment--say Honda VS Toyota or Chevy VS Ford--and the vehicle you want is on the "losing" side, then go for it.

It is also true that the manufacturers throw down money to move product, but the money isn't always thrown to the customer. Sometimes it's in the per-car bonus a dealer gets for selling a car. By that I mean that the invoice really isn't always the "invoice". Manufacturers have inflated the invoice to dealers in some cases and then pay the dealer a fee per car for each one sold.

I'd suggest getting a good deal on a Genesis G90 or a Lincoln Continental because there's money there.

The Lincoln MKX definitely will be sold down given the Nautilus.

Do your research.
