Spy Photos and Videos: 2008 Cadillac CTS-V

First revealed on 60 Minutes months ago, the 2008 Cadillac CTS has been one of the most photographed prototypes of the year. In our latest spy video, we catch the first shots of its high-powered brother, the 2008 Cadillac CTS-V.

Caught recently on the Nürburgring test track, as well as various surface streets around the famous German facility, this Cadillac CTS V-Series was outfitted with all the usual equipment found on these high-performance variants of standard Cadillac models.

Up front there's a deeper, more aggressive airdam along with a signature mesh grille. Closer inspection of the photos also shows an upgraded set of wheels and tires although it's not clear whether these are production spec or not. Heavy-duty brake hardware is also evident as are some slight alterations to the lower bodywork.

I really hope that this product can compete with the Germans. I'm surprised we haven't seen a photoshop based on what we saw from the 60 minutes airing in combination with these spy photos.

I'm sure they're out there, but no one notices.

The new CTS will surely be a strong competitor, but it's in a crowded field of new faces, including the proverbial BMW 3 Series, new Infiniti G35, new Audi A4 and new Mercedes C-Class.

I'm judging those as its competitors on price, not size.

Awesome.Cadillac has really proven it can compete with the best of them and this new model will surely be another homerun for cadillac.The entire line up looks fresh and exciting.I traded in my M5 and that alone say's it all about the cts-v the car is so powerful, so well controlled. I can not wait for the new cts-v.I will never, never, 1 more time never buy another M5 the current model is so ugly inside and out I just have no will to switch back.Cadillac you have done the ultimate and won over a BMW DRIVER.All I can say is this car is a American beauty in cutting style power and grace.
