#CES2017: Genesis Goes For The Jugular - Announces New Rear-Wheel Drive Sports Car
In April last year, Genesis boss Manfred Fitzgerald said the brand is not interested in creating a halo sports car and instead will focus on building vehicles that customers want. Apparently, the top managers at the premium brand from South Korea have changed their minds in the last several months, as now two Hyundai executives have confirmed work on a new Genesis-branded sports car has already started.

The information comes from Hyundai design vice-president Luc Donckerwolke and vice-chairman of research and development, Woong-chul Yang, who hinted to WheelsMagazine that the vehicle will have a two-seat layout and will probably be powered by a hybrid system.

So, if it's an "N" car, then it will be badged a Hyundai, correct? "N" cars are staying with the Hyundai badge and not a part of Genesis. Based on concepts and the brand's propensity for derivation, it'll likely be a cross between an Aston and Jag F-Type.

The Genesis Coupe was a good idea executed poorly. It the Coupe had an available V8, sales would have likely tripled. If Genesis is smart, they will price their coupe like a Mustang GT and GT350.

There are lots and lots of gangbangers in fartcan BMWs. Just look at Bimmerfest. BMW didn't halt production because of that. Sales are sales. Profit is profit. Make it any way you can in the industry.
